Final Exams
On June 14th & 15th students will take Final Exams in English, Science, Social Studies and Math. (Make-up exams will be on June 16th.) The format will include two exams scheduled for each morning. The first exam session will begin at 7:45 a.m. and conclude at 9:25 a.m. The second exam session begins at 9:35 a.m. and lasts until 11:00 a.m. For full year courses, the exam will count for 10% of the final grade average with the four marking period grades and the mid-term exam making up the other 90%. Subject area teachers will review for these tests. It is a good idea to begin preparations early. Do not wait until the last minute to study. Please understand that 30% of the final average is yet to be determined. Good luck!!!

English, Math, Science, Global Studies, World Language, and Physical Education are courses required for graduation. If you fail any of these courses it is your responsibility to make it up and earn the credit. Failed courses will not be automatically placed on your schedule for next year. Students who fail a course should consider a summer course at Rose Tree Media Summer School. To register for RTM summer courses, please use the link on our district’s home page. See Mrs. Graham with any questions.
Naviance
Throughout the year, students have received information about Naviance, a web-based program used to help track your progress in high school, explore careers, interests, and colleges, and to complete the college application process. It’s important for all students to register so that you explore the site and receive communication about programs and services at Penncrest. If you need your log in information, please contact Mrs. Graham.
Summer Jobs
The summer is a great time to pick up a job and earn a few extra dollars. Penncrest has a Job Opportunities board located in the Career Center. Check out the selection of jobs with a recap of hours, salary, and requirements.
Working Papers
If you do pick up a job then you will need to apply for working papers. It’s easy to do. Follow these simple steps:
1. Apply in the Main Office between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. See Mrs. King for the application.
2. Bring proof of age, for example: birth certificate, baptismal certificate, or passport.
3. If you are 16 years old, upon completion of the necessary form, your employment certificate will then be given to you to be used until you are 18 years of age.
4. For full- or part-time work you will complete a white application form. At age 14 or
15 you are limited to 18 hours per week (part-time), except during summer vacation time when 40 hours per week is the limit. At this age you are prohibited from working before 7:00 a.m. or after 7:00 p.m.
Counselor Assignments
As you move into your sophomore year your counselor will change. You will be notified of your counselor assignments shortly.
Have a great summer!
