Essential / Desirable

Qualifications

Recognised play qualification - minimum NVQ Level 3 in playwork or equivalent. / 

Experience

Experience of play work with children aged 5 to 14 years.

Experience of leading / managing a play team through a successful OFSTED inspection at a play setting eg.after school club, holiday play scheme or an adventure playground. /

Experience of liaising with parents/carers of children attending play provision and promoting positive relationships. / 

Knowledge

Understanding and commitment to the basic values and principles of playwork. / 
Knowledge of Health & Safety issues relating to all issues concerning children and provision of the Playground. / 

Understanding of and commitment to the implementation of all relevant policies.

Skills

Ability to lead and motivate a staff team. / 
Able to ensure that all money transactions are handled in accordance with proper procedures. / 
Able to ensure that all current administrative records are maintained and returned as required. / 
Ability to manage a busy play setting. / 
Ability to organise a programme of play activities and facilitate free play in order to motivate children in such a way as to contribute to their enjoyment and overall development. / 
Ability to work with children and young people in a non-directive manner. / 
Ability to supervise and appraise staff and identify their training requirements. / 
Ability to carry out an effective review of the provision. / 
Ability to take responsibility for own personal development. / 
General
Evidence to show reliability, good attendance and timekeeping. / 
Evidence of being creative, committed, enthusiastic, innovative and optimistic. / 
Hold a current First Aid Qualification /

Have completed Level 2 training in Safeguarding children and young people /
