Our first newsletter of 2016 is here! We hope you all enjoyed the break over the festive period and would like to wish you a happy and successful year to come.

Desford FC, your local community football club needs you!As we grow, we need help to build on what we do today and make it even better for the kids tomorrow!

Much work is going on behind the scenes – Just a few highlights…

  • The club is continuing to build community partnerships. We are delighted to announcethat we have now signed a partnership agreementwith Desford Primary school to work together to increase opportunities for local children to participate in sport including the provision of afterschool football coaching sessions.
  • In fact, our girls teams continue to thrive. A big welcome to Kimberley & Megan to the U13s taking the squad up to an incredible 15 in such a short time.
  • We soon hope to have a list of training/kit items available that can be ordered via the form at the Tea Bar
  • We are delighted to announce the return of Hilroy Benjamin to the 1st team coaching set-up

Help and support...

Many Thanks to Jenny Curtis who is now washing the adult kits for us! We still need help to...

  • Raise money! We still have an urgent vacancy for a Fundraising officer and need helpers to raise funds and organise social events
  • Run the Tea bar in the dome Saturday mornings / outside in future Saturdays/Sundays
  • Help on match days (setting up / running the line etc for all teams)
  • Find new sponsors / offer your unique skills however you can!

If you can help in any way at all, any support(no matter how small) you can offer will be greatly appreciated!

What would you like to see in future newsletters? Any suggestions how we could improve as a club?

Please speak to your coach or one of the committee. We will look to introduce a questionnaire in the coming months but please don’t wait if you have ideas!
