RULES REGARDING ENTRANCE FEES FOR SCHOOLS AT THE ADDO ELEPHANT NATIONAL PARK
- Schools visiting on a week day during term time and who have made a booking (i.e. informed the Park of their intent to visit):
- All learners enter free of charge. Maximum 60 learners at a time and maximum one bus at a time.
- Maximum two educators enter free. All other educators / supervisors pay normal entrance fees.
- Driver of vehicle enters free.
- Schools visiting on a weekend or during school or public holidays pay normal entrance fees.
- Schools booking through a tour operator (e.g. Elwierda School Journey Service) pay normal entrance fees.
- Schools that have not made a booking pay normal entrance fees.
- Tertiary institutions / other adult education institutions pay normal entrance fees, unless they have been granted special concession.
- Any exceptions to the above rules must be applied for in writing, stating reasons for application, and authorised by the Park Manager.
- All the above rules regarding entrance fees are subject to change at the discretion of the Park Manager. A booking is not confirmed until the school has received a fax with the Park Manager’s signature (or telephonic confirmation if the school has no fax).
- Schools that have been granted free entrance are obliged to hire a Hop-on Guide (see rate below). Schools / institutions that have paid normal entrance fees may choose to hire or not to hire a Hop-on Guide.
- Teachers or supervisors must agree to supervise learners at all times, so that they do not cause a disturbance to other visitors.
Please indicate whether a Hop-on Guide is required. A Hop-on Guide will accompany your vehicle through the game area at a rate of R100 per vehicle for 2 hours (rates subject to change).
