IRETON CHRISTIAN REFORMED

NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 2016

THANK YOU’S

After receiving this beautiful thank you from a resident at Mica Hill, I felt it important to share with our church family, seeing how very much these services are appreciated. Please see below what she wrote:

“Your young folks had a very nice service last Monday evening, August 1, at Hillcrest. Would you please pass the word to your gang” Janohn Wasser

The GEMS thanks Marsha Brown for the Memorial gift given to their program in memory of, and in honor of her sister, Janet Brown.

NOTE FROM LINDSEY BROEK……

Hey family and friends! As some of you may know, I will be spending the next 3 1/2 months in Costa Rica as part of a study abroad program for my Spanish major. During the semester, I will be periodically posting updates about my happenings and experiences on a blog, which I posted below! In addition, I would love to receive mail while I'm there, if you wish to send something; just no packages (there's a good chance they won't make it to Costa Rica)

Here's my address:

Prayers are also greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the support and encouragement, it means so much!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

FROM THE GEMS:

The GEMS will kick off the season on Wednesday, September 14. Our meetings will be on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month from 6:30-8:15. More details to follow for this year's KICK OFF.
Our 'Treasured Friends' / Prayer Partner program, which is pairing up a member of our congregation with one of our young girls will be continued with the same pairs of girl/adult friends. If anyone would like their names added or taken off, please notify Carmen at 712-441-2971. We will be in need of additional names, so please consider this outreach, which requires only that you pray for and show encouragement to a young girl.
Our counselors for this coming year are Jen Miedema, Sharla Gradert, Kayla Dekkers, Raelle Dekkers, Angela Dekkers, and Carmen Noteboom. We welcome Angela Kuperus who will also be helping us this year.

Marlene De Weerd has been a part of the GEMS' program for many years giving of her talents to help young girls' lives, and she will not be returning this year. Sara Hulshof had led the girls in the previous years also as coordinator, spending many hours in planning and guiding the girls. We thank these ladies for being a part of a very important ministry.
