2SYSTEM DESCRIPTION STAINLESS STEEL DOORS ECONOMY 50
2.1Economy 50 steel doors / Fixed lights
Profile system made from rolled ECONOMY 50 stainless steel profiles (material 1.4307 / AISI 304 L) for single and double-leaf flush door units as well as fixed lights. Section height basic and door construction 50 mm, frame width frame and door wing profiles 50 mm.
Door wings interior and exterior flush fitting with the frame, double rebate seal on the side and top as well as surrounding glazing rebate of 5 mm. In the region of the sill and depending on the model, with or without a sill, at least one seal is to be fitted.
Fittings which are system-compatible and have been tested by the system manufacturer are to be used only.
The elements are welded together using the WIG/TIG method. Weld seams must be expertly dressed and visible welds must be ground down neatly. The system manufacturer’s instructions and the general processing guidelines published by the Informationsstelle Edelstahl Rostfrei (Stainless Steel Information Service), D-40013 Düsseldorf must be observed.
The glazing beads made of stainless steel are to be fixed invisibly using studs made of stainless steel.
Profile widths:
Outer frames (door)40 mm / 65 mm
Leafs (door)60 mm / 85 mm
Base rail profile (door)70 mm / 85 mm / 90 mm
Door face plate (profile comb.)150 mm
Frames (fixed lights)45 mm
Mullions65 mm
Transoms 65 mm
Glazing beads15 mm /20 mm / 25 mm / 30 mm
The profile dimensions stated above have been determined on the basis of a preliminary structural design study and/or aesthetic considerations. The company has to check these requirements regarding statics before submitting a tender and to submit a report if there are any deviations.
Supplemental details and information on construction assembly, fabrication and installation are to be taken from the documentation of the system manufacturer.

4INSTALLING INFILL PANELS
4.1Glazing with polymer material sealing compound (sealing)
Glazing and panel installation is carried out using interior and exterior sealing.
The EMPA and SZFF Standards 42.03 / 42.04 and the manufacturer’s guidelines are the standards set for joint formation, dimensioning and padding.
High quality, permanently elastic sealing compounds are to be used for the seals, which can absorb the anticipated movements permanently. The specific guidelines of the glass manufacturer are to be followed for special glazing.
On award of contract, the company is obliged to co-ordinate the type of insulation elements and mode of glass installation with the double glazing manufacturer and glazing company.
The glazing, the glass and panel installation, as well as all the fittings required for them such as spacer bars, glazing bridges, etc. are to be included in the flat rate tender.
4.2Dry glazing note: for dry interior only
Glazing and panel fitting is carried out using EPDM glazing seals on both sides.
In the profile stop area, a self-adhesive glazing seal is to be fitted. The edges are to be mitre-cut and glued.
The inner seals (glazing bead side) are to be selected according to the joint width between infill element and glazing bead and pressed in evenly. The corners of the seals are to be mitre-cut and pressed in cleanly.
Additional information concerning the fabrication and fitting can be found in the processing and fitting guidelines of the system manufacturer.
The guidelines of glass manufacturer or glass supplier shall be relevant for the pads. The specific guidelines of the glass manufacturer are to be followed for special glazing.
On award of contract, the company is obliged to co-ordinate the type of insulation elements and mode of glass installation with the double glazing manufacturer and glazing company.
The glazing, the glass and panel installation, as well as all the fittings required for them such as seals, glazing bridges, etc. are to be included in the flat rate tender.

grain 220 - 240
grain 320 - 400
Welding with the WIG / TIG method, with addition (build-up welding).
Weld seams must be expertly dressed and ground down neatly using pickling paste or electrochemical pickling units. To achieve mitred or push-joint grinding edges special polyethylene adhesive tape must be used.
The grinding pattern of transition of welded mitrations / push-joints / etc. to the surfaces must fit seamlessly.
The general instructions on surface treatment published by the Informationsstelle Edelstahl Rostfrei (Stainless Steel Information Service), Postfach 10 22 05, DE-40013 Düsseldorf must be additionally observed.
6.2Stainless steel profiles (material 1.4307 / AISI 304 L) bright rolled, visible surfaces polished.
Welding using the WIG / TIG method, without addition (resurfacing by welding: welding seams remain visible).
The welds / welding beads must be dressed using pickling paste or electrochemical pickling units.
The general instructions on surface treatment published by the Informationsstelle Edelstahl Rostfrei (Stainless Steel Information Service), Postfach 10 22 05, DE-40013 Düsseldorf must be additionally observed.
7SHEET METAL WORK
Window sills, joint plates, end plates and pressed steel cladding are to be included in the flat rate tender including sub-construction, fastening plates, insulation and sealing compounds.
Pressed stainless steel profiles are to be made from ground grain ...... The sheet metal should be 1.5 - 2.0 mm thick, depending on the application.
8FIXING TO MASONRY
8.1Fixing devices to masonry
Preferably fixing devices made of stainless steel are to be installed. A good anti-corrosive (preferably hot-dip galvanized) is to be applied on fixing devices made of steel such as retaining clips, fixing straps, supporting yokes, anchor plates and sub-constructions.
All fixing devices required are to be included in the flat rate tender.
8.2Fixing materials
For fixing metal elements to the masonry fasteners such as anchor screws, anchor bolts, anchors embedded in concrete, polymer material plugs etc. appropriate for the particular installation and purpose are to be used. All fixing materials are to be included in the flat rate tender.
9SEALS
Masonry-fixing details between the metal construction and the structure are to be sealed using permanently polymer material lute joints and/or appropriate sealing foils.
The finishing of exterior and interior structural and site fixings are in general to be watertight or airtight respectively.
The interior structural and site fixings must be vapour-tight where necessary (e.g. air-conditioned rooms and buildings etc.).
Any materials and stock used must be appropriate for the relevant purpose and compatible with the adjacent materials and stock. The manufacturer’s processing guidelines are to be observed.
All sealing and jointing jobs as well as insulating materials and accessories are to be included in the flat rate tender.
10VARIANT TENDERS
Variant tenders are admissible in combination with the proposal per template.
