Background and objectives:

The project will be in the area of CSR.

CSR is about how companies manage the business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society.

Overall Purpose of project:

  • Understand the long term goals of the organisation
  • Evaluate current duty of care exposure
  • Analyse current spend and travel decisions
  • Indentify opportunities to streamline by offering efficiencies
  • Assess current carbon footprint and benefit of alternative solutions
  • Develop commercial awareness, negotiation, presentation, communication and sales skills of participants

CSR is increasingly important to businesses, the public sector and critically a major decision making factor for students when applying to organisations.

As part of striving to balance performing operations with CSR aims – we can perform needs analysis and present solutions in line with business goals.

The Brief:

Up to 5 Students will work within a structured programme- mentored by a team of experienced business, sales, rental and operational managers.

Their remit will be to analyse the current perceived need, actual spend and available options. Then develop proposals to align with the future CSR and cost saving aims of the organisation

  • Meeting with ERAC to outline project
  • Research existing information available
  • Identify who is ultimately responsible
  • Set up appointments with procurement, finance and transport. Accompanied by ERAC Area manager and/or business rental sales manager
  • Conduct needs analysis
  • Understand 5 year plan
  • Group meeting to discuss information gathered
  • Develop proposal
  • Present findings to panel – University/ERAC
