Scope

·  To provide information and advice (I&A) to older people, their carers and professionals, by a variety of means including telephone, face to face, written and IT communication.

·  To manage a team of Information and Advice Advisors.

Main Responsibilities

1.  To provide I&A to older people, their carers and professionals externally by means of hosting/fronting I&A events, undertaking talks/presentations.

2.  To provide I&A at locations across Norfolk, to include Thetford, Kings Lynn, at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and other service delivery areas as the service requires

3.  To maintain and develop relevant resources to support the Service, including fact sheets, leaflets, Internet websites and other relevant information as appropriate. Ensuring accurate up to date resources are in place.

4.  Provide support for the I&A Service Volunteers and administration volunteers, ensuring they are kept up to date with relevant information, identifying appropriate training and learning opportunities.

5.  Ensure the smooth running of the I&A Service including rota’s, accurate monitoring and case recording, and the preparation and submission of written reports and monitoring data, as required.

6.  Provide ongoing support on a formal and informal basis to volunteers and staff as appropriate.

7.  To work as part of the Information, Advice and Advocacy Team, giving and receiving support in a cooperative and collaborative way to both employees and volunteers.

General:

·  To act as an ambassador for Age UK Norfolk.

·  To receive support and one to one’s according to our policy and procedures and to attend employee meetings.

·  To participate in the appraisal scheme, and undertake training appropriate to the development of your job role and in line the Organisation’s statutory obligations.

·  To work to the agreed standards and policies of the Organisation including public relations; equal opportunities; confidentiality; complaints procedure; personnel and financial procedures.

·  To carry out other duties as directed by the Information, Advice and Advocacy Manager and the Assistant Manager that are consistent with the duties and responsibilities of this post.
