Soochow University Personal Data Collection Statement

The Soochow University, during this year’s admission, shall acquire students’ personal information, such as "Types of identification", "Types of characteristic" and "Schools record", from the following sources: the College Entrance Examination Center, the University Entrance Committee For Overseas Chinese Students and the Admissions Division under Soochow University’s Office of Academic Affairs. The University shall use this information to establish contact lists (for alumni associations of the school and of individual departments) and make admission related contact. In addition, for the purpose of “Student data administration”, the University is required to collect other admission related information from admitted students for necessary utilization, such as student registration, data management, education administration, accommodation arrangement and necessary contact, during the students’ time at the University.

As prescribed by law, you may exercise the following rights by contacting the University’s Registration and Curriculum Division under Office of Academic Affairs:

1.  any inquiry and request for a review of the personal information;

2.  any request to make duplications of the personal information;

3.  any request to supplement or correct the personal information;

4.  any request to discontinue collection, processing or use of personal information;

(Note: the enrollment process may be affected if information is not complete.)

4. Regardless of departments, the registration of online enrollment for professional courses for students of Doctoral/Master’s Programs can be accessed during the designated time described below. After finishing the registration, the system will process and distribute the data in sequence. Emails will be sent to notify the enrollment results. Students in need of manual adding can print the “Courses Selection Result” directly and hand in the documents to the Registration Division in person with signed approval from the chairperson of the department. It is recommended to use School email for sending inquiries about course selection, or check the status online during the specified time frame.

Personal Information Maintenance of Soochow Students

1. Time for maintaining personal information online:

Before Sep.14: For students on the waiting list, please maintain personal information online according to the time given at the registration day.

2. Login instruction:

(1) Use Internet Explorer IE to enter the E-campus System website at http://www.ecampus.scu.edu.tw.

(2) Open “Tool Kit” on the right side of the homepage of E-campus System and perform “check browser settings” (This step needs to be performed once only unless there’s update or settings adjustment of browser.)

(3) After the execution, the Internet Explorer (IE) browser settings will emerge on the screen. Please select “change my settings to meet E-campus System”.

(4) Close browser and reopen it to enter the homepage of “E-campus System”.

Please select “student”, enter “student ID” as the account number, and enter “9999” as the password for international students.

(5) After entering E-campus System, please go to “Personal Information Service” à “Information Maintenance” à “Essential Personal Information” to fill out. Please download relevant operation manual at “E-book Download” on the right side of that page for details and reference.

Ø  Shuttle Buses for Soochow Students

To encourage students to use public transportation more often for attending classes, Soochow University offers shuttle buses for connecting Wai Shuang Hsi Campus and nearby Metro Rail Transit (MRT) stations and Soochow buses between two campuses. The bus routes are as follows. Please visit Moral and Civil Education Center website for schedules.

1. Shuttle buses between Wai Shuang Hsi Campus and Downtown Campus: From Monday to

Friday (excluding holidays), buses connecting both campuses are available daily during each semester.

2. Shuttle buses for dormitory: From Monday to Friday (excluding holidays), buses are available between both campuses and dormitories including Hejiang and Hefeng daily during each semester.

3. Shuttle buses for Metro Rail Transit (MRT) stations: From Monday to Friday (excluding holidays), buses connecting Wai Shuang Hsi Campus and nearby MRT stations are available daily during each semester.

(1) Shuttle buses for Soochow ßà Shilin Station: Shuttle buses connecting Wai Shuang Hsi Campus and MRT Shilin Station (Exit #1, in front of the “a la sha Clothing Store”) are available.

(2) Shuttle buses for Soochow ßàJiannan Road Station: Shuttle buses connecting Wai Shuang Hsi Campus and MRT Jiannan Road Station (Exit #2) are available.

Ø  Lost and found:

You can search for your lost items in the E-campus system, there will be photos for your review.

You can also come to Moral and Civil Education Center to check it out.

If you have a lost item, you can hand it in at Moral and Civil Education Center where it will be recorded and displayed.

Service of Campus Security Report Center(CSRC)

1. Motorcycle Pass Application

(1) According to the Regulation of Motorcycle Parking in our school, those who access the school by motorcycle shall apply for the motorcycle pass.

(2) Please go to the Office of CSRC for Motorcycle Pass Application Form if you commute to school by motorcycle. After registration, please bring application form (Payment for an academic year shall be made at the Cashier’s Division in advance.) with original and valid driving license, vehicle license, and insurance certificate to the Office of CSRC at both campuses for “Motorcycle Pass” application.

(3) Students with motorcycle pass can use parking lot at both campuses or enjoy the discount. The charge on both campuses is as below.

(4) There are convenient public transportation and shuttle buses between campuses and MRT stations in our school. Therefore, it is recommended to use them in commuting for safety and environmental concerns.

(5) During the “First Mile Freshman Orientation Activities”, those who bring freshman admission notification can enjoy free parking at motorcycle parking lot in our school.

Description of computer classroom services – Administration & Consultation Division

■There are total 10 computer classrooms with around 590 computers, dot matrix printers, laser printers, and scanners in both campuses.
