SWIM MEET INFO
This meet has been “pre-seeded” and the swimmer's heat and lane assignment are listed within the Swim Meet Program. The HYCAT Clerk of Course will ONLY be utilizing a “positive” check-in procedure for the three (3) Senior/Open Age Group events: 1000 Free on FRI,APR 12TH;400 IM on SAT, APR 13TH; and 500 Free on SUN, APR 14TH. If the Swim Coach {or their “designated” representative} has any questions, please report to the HYCAT Clerk of Course area as soon as they arrive at the pool on Friday.

SWIM MEET INFO (cont).....
The HYCAT Clerk of Course will be located in the room located underneath the scoreboard on the deck of the pool at the starting end of the pool. If a swimmer DOES NOT “check-in” properly/correctly for their Senior/Open Age Group events, the swimmer WILL NOT be seeded in the event(s). If the swimmer decides at a later time to swim the event, the swimmer will be seeded in the first heat(s) where space is available!
As mentioned above, ALL events will be “pre-seeded.” The swimmers WILL NOT be issued time cards for this meet = THE SWIMMERS REPORT TO THE STARTING BLOCKS FORTHEIR EVENTS!!! The heat and lane assignments are listed within the Heat Sheet. ONLY the distance events {500/1000 Free & 400 IM} will be posted on the wall at the shallow end of the pool; on the windows behind the starting end of the pool {hallway side of windows} AND one of the hallways going into the “spectator area!” IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SWIMMER TO REPORT TO THE STARTING BLOCKS “ON TIME” FOR EACH OF THEIR EVENTS!!!
The Swim Team Coaches {or their “designated” representative} MUST return the
sign-in sheets according to the schedule outlined at the top of the next page.

ALL entries that have been received AFTERMONDAY,APRIL 08TH, 2013 @ 11:59PM (noon) (or when the heat sheets have been printed) have been declared as “late entries” and have been seeded in the first heats at “NT” {no time}. ALL entries received after 12 midnight, Thursday, April 11thwill be considered as “deck” entries and subject to the “deck” entry fees of $5.00 per individual entry and $10.00 per relay entry. Also, ALL “deck” entries will be paid directly to the HYCAT Clerk of Course AND seeded in the first heats!
The swimming meet will follow USA Rules governing “scratches” PLUS the following WV Swimming Committee guidelines/policies:
[1] Individual swimmers who do not indicate to the Clerk of Course
directly, or by sign-in procedure, that they intend to compete in a
timed final event shall not be penalized. This shall not count as a
swum event.
[2] Individual swimmers who indicate to the HYCAT Clerk of Course
directly, or by sign-in procedure, that they intend to compete but
fail to compete are “disqualified” from the event. This does count as
a swum event!
Additionally, the swimmer shall only be permitted to swim his/her
next scheduled individual event as “EXHIBITION.” This event also
counts as a swum event!
[3] Exceptions / NO penalty if:
[A] the Meet Referee is notified and accepts a case of injury or
illness; OR
[B] it is determined by the Meet Referee that circumstances beyond
the control of the swimmer{s} prohibited competing; OR
[C] in the case of a relay, only those swimmers reporting and ready
to compete shall not be penalized

CONCESSION & COACH/OFFICIAL HOSPITALITY INFO
HYCAT Swimming will have a “concession area” available throughout the entire swim meet. The concession area will be located at the entrance to the Gorman PE Building, immediately to your right upon entering the building.
Also, the HYCAT Swimming Program will provide a coaches’/officials' hospitality “on deck” for the meet as follows:
** Friday, April 12th @ 06:00PM
** Saturday, April 13th@ 10:15AM
** Sunday, April 14th @ 10:15AM
NATIONAL TIME VERIFICATION INFO
If a “National Time Verification” is necessary, please submit a written request to Greg Olson at the meet. If the time is requested on or after Monday, April15th, 2013, there will be a $10.00 “late request fee” required before the “time verification” will be issued! A “national time verification” CAN ONLY be issued for JR National or SR Nationalor USA Open qualifying time standard AND with the appropriate information! Greg is the only person “approved” within the WV LSC to issue a “national time verification!”

OFFICIALS
HYCAT Swimming invites interested people who would like to assist with the Meet Officiating to contact the Meet Referee(s) {Skip Hageboeckor his designee} upon their arrival. The announcer will make a “call” for officials about 10-15 minutes prior to the start of each swimming session. The HYCAT Swimming Program appreciates your help and assistance and we will furnish, upon request, a “receipt” for your tax records!
WARM-UP PROCEDURES
The swimming coaches and/or team representatives will be held RESPONSIBLE for the behavior of their swimmers, parents and guests during the entire swimming meet. A USA certified/registered coach MUST be “on deck” during the warm-up periods. If a swimmer is competing in the meet without a USA certified/regi-
stered coach, PLEASE report to the Meet Referee for your lane assignment during the warm-ups {see information below}.
THE FOLLOWING WV LSC WARM-UP PROCEDURES WILL BE ENFORCED DURING THE “WARM-UP” PERIODS EACH DAY OF THE SWIMMING MEET:
[1] ALL swimmers competing without a USA certified/registered coach must
warm-up in lane #1
[2] BEGINNING OF THE WARM-UP PERIOD
[A] ALL lanes general warm-up ONLY
[B] NO dive starts permitted {feet first entry from the starting/
deep end of the pool ONLY
[C] NO equipment permitted at any time
[D] Circle swimming as follows: lanes #1,3,5 swim clockwise {left to
right} and lanes #2,4,6 swim counter-clockwise {right to left}
[3] LAST 10 MINUTES OF THE WARM-UP PERIOD
[A] lanes #1,5 & 6 AND 4 will continue as general warm-up
[B] lane #2 will have dive or back starts permitted from the starting/
deep end of the pool; one-way swimming from deep to shallow end of
the pool ONLY
[C] lane #3 will be used for pace 50s or 100s if needed; start from
the deep end of the pool; circle swimming clockwise direction; IF
lane #3 is NOT used for pace lane swimming, either general warm-up
OR dive starts will be permitted at the discretion of the Meet
Referee
These warm-up procedures have been established for the OVER-ALL safety of the swimmers both in and out of the water! Your cooperation and assistance with these procedures will be GREATLY APPRECIATED as we strive to make the sport of swimming as safe as possible! Please note that these procedures MAY be slightly different than the procedures to your own local LSC = the West Virginia LSC has made some “modifications” to the warm-up guidelines as determined by United States Swimming!

MEET BEHAVIOR INFO
The HYCAT Swimming Program “rents/leases” the swimming facilities & office space from the University of Charleston and we wish to keep a “good working relation-ship” with the UC Administration!!! We ask for your cooperation and assistance AND to feel “at home” while you are at the swim meet, and at the same time, please show the same RESPECT to these facilities and surrounding buildings/ grounds that you would your own facility at home!
ALL swimmers, parents, coaches and spectators are asked to remain in the desig-nated areas during the entire swim meet. There will be UC Athletic events held during this weekend so it is IMPORTANT for the swimming people to stay in the designated areas AT ALL TIMES!!! THE FOLLOWING AREAS HAVE BEEN DECLARED AS “OFF LIMITS” TO ALL SWIM MEET PARTICIPANTS: [1] THE BOAT DOCK; THE BOAT RAMP & RELATED/NEARBY BUILDINGS/EQUIPMENT; [2] 1ST FLOOR OF THE EDDIE KING GYM; [3] 2ND & 3RD FLOORS OF THE GORMAN PE BUILDING/EDDIE KING GYM; [4] THE BALCONY AREA LOCATED AT THE STARTING/DEEP END OF THE POOL; AND [5] ANY OTHER AREAS THAT HAVE BEEN LISTED AS “OFF LIMITS.” Any person (or persons) found in these areas will be subject to immediate “disqualification” from the meet and removal from the meet areas. Misconduct; littering; running on the deck of the pool and/or hallways; destruction and/or defacement of property WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!! Any person (or persons) who participates in such behavior will be dismissed from the swim meet area and/or surrounding areas. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED COOPERATION AND ASSISTANCE WITH THESE MATTERS!!!
SMOKING
SMOKING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED WITHIN THE GORMAN PE BUILDING!! Smoking is ONLY permitted outside the Gorman PE Building AND in specific designated areas! Smoking is permitted on the parking lot side of the building ONLY!! Smoking ISNOT permitted in any area where swimmers are present = THANK YOU FOR YOUR OPERATION!!!
