Louisiana Bankers Education Council

Mission:
The mission of the Louisiana Bankers Education Council is to promote financial education among bankers and students throughout Louisiana by:
- Elementary school financial literacy education, i.e. Bank-at-School
- High school financial literacy education, i.e. Simply Banking
- College Freshman Scholarships
- Louisiana JumpStart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy – partnering with others to promote financial literacy throughout Louisiana
- Education for middle management bankers
- Manage the Louisiana Bankers Education Foundation which funds the above programs
Council:
The Louisiana Bankers Education Council executive council will be made up of a:
- Past President
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary/Treasurer
- Education Chairman
The President of the Louisiana Bankers Education Council will hold a non-voting position on the Louisiana Bankers Association board of directors.
The Louisiana Bankers Education Councilmanaging council will be made up of eight (8) middle management bankers from throughout the state, recognizing the need to have all areas of the state represented by these eight (8) bankers.
In addition to the managing council, the Louisiana Bankers Education Council general council will be made up of middle management bankers from throughout the state who are interested in working with the Louisiana Bankers Education Council’s programs. There is no limit to the number of general council members. Any banker who is employed by a Louisiana Bankers Association member, can become a member of the Louisiana Bankers Education Council general council.
Protocol:
The Louisiana Bankers Education Council will meet at the discretion of the executive council and will manage all Louisiana Bankers Education Council programs. The Louisiana Bankers Education Council exist at the discretion of the Louisiana Bankers Association.
Terms:
Executive council members will be elected by a majority present during an annual Louisiana Bankers Education Council education event and serve for a period of one year. Concurrent terms are permitted. Prior to election to the executive council, bankers should have served on the managing council for at least one year.
Managing council members will be elected during the annual Louisiana Bankers Education Council conference and serve for a period of two years. Concurrent terms are permitted. Prior to election to the managing council, bankers should have served on the general council for at least one year.
General council members will be added to the group upon request and can serve indefinitely.
