Mr.Young:

I am writing to express my vehement opposition to the construction of a cell phone tower at 634 Dill Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30310. As a resident of the neighborhood around this property I am convinced that such a tower would be extremely detrimental to our community.

The proposed tower location is one of the most visible corners in our residential neighborhood. Having a tower on this corner would disrupt the historical character of the area and nullify all our plans for positive development on that corner. I understand the need to have good cell phone coverage throughout the city, but there is no need to build a tower on this particular corner. There are many other possible tower locations within a mile of this site which would not destroy the character of our neighborhood. Constructing a tower on the current site would indicate that your company cares only about the bottom line and is not interested in finding the best tower location to serve the needs of the community.

We have had several meetings with Mr. Kennedy of Southeast Towers, with whom you have contracted for the construction of this tower. These meetings have been completely unproductive and Southeast Towers has shown no willingness to listen to the concerns of the community. These meetings have given us the impression that Metro PCS cares only about what is cheapest and easiest and has no interest in contributing positively to our community.

The proposed tower location is adjacent to two communities with active neighborhood associations and we plan to do everything in our power to keep a tower from going up at this location. We are working with our elected officials to pursue political solutions, lawyers in our community are preparing legal challenges, and we have contacted the local media about our concerns. Our community is united in opposition to a tower at this location.

We hope Metro PCS will work with us to find an alternative location for the tower that will not be harmful to our community.

Sincerely,
