Call for Submissions: Chronic Disease & Lifestyle Modification

CALL FOR PAPERS

According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, seven of the top 10 causes of death in the U.S. are chronic diseases, including heart disease, cancer, respiratory disease, stroke and diabetes. Modifiable lifestyle behaviors (e.g., lack or exercise or physical activity, poor nutrition, tobacco use, drinking too much alcohol, and receipt of preventive health screenings) are related to the incidence, morbidity, and mortality of several of these conditions. A partnership approach promoting cross-disciplinary or “team science” is needed to address the complex factors influencing these behaviors and outcomes.

The Journal of the Georgia Public Health Association (jGPHA) announces a call for submissions related to chronic diseases. The goal of this issue is to enhance the understanding of public health researchers, policymakers, and practitioners of the chronic disease burden in Georgia.
