Overview:

HGS is seeking a full-time System Administrator that enjoys solving problems, working with customers, and has a technical background including Linux/Windows, System Administration, Network Administration, and/or Database Administration.This will require an experienced AWS System Administrator. Required Job Skills:

  • Experience as System Administrator, Network Administrator or Database Administrator
  • Experience supporting highly available AWS cloud environment
  • Significant knowledge and experience with Windows 2008/2012, Virtualization (HyperV/VMware), Dell/HP servers, Security devices (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.)
  • AWS Certification such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator required
  • Cisco CCNA, CCNP certifications or Oracle certification a plus

Desired Job Skills and Position Requirements:

  • Deploy, manage, and operate highly available, scalable and self-healing systems on AWS
  • Replicate databases and migrate existing on-premises application to AWS
  • Select the most appropriate AWS service based on compute, data, or security requirements
  • Identify appropriate use of AWS architecture and operational best practices
  • Estimate AWS usage costs and identifying operational cost control mechanisms
  • Define, deploy and monitor metrics and logs on AWS
  • Perform implementation, maintenance and optimization of network hardware, software, and communication links of the cloud infrastructure
  • Setup VPC
  • Perform setup, configuration and operations on networking devices including routers, firewalls, content monitoring systems, and load balancers and network switches
  • Evaluate, test and install security updates using automated tools & software
  • Provide Tier 1-3 help desk support to clients in a professional and timely manner
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of system security and disaster recovery plans
  • Implement security controls based in accordance with government laws and regulations
  • Troubleshoot advanced hardware and software problems
  • Regularly contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards
  • Look for fine tuning existing processes to reduce costs and improve reliability of services
  • Apply expertise and possess knowledge of related disciplines
  • Conduct seminars, training and presentations on topics of interest to the Center for Information Technology Group
  • Maintain Jira/Github/Bamboo
