Projects Handled:

PROJECT#1 : Land Use/ Land Cover Analysis.

Organization : M.K.University (M.Sc Academic Project)

Package Used : Arc GIS 9.3, Arc View 3.4, ERDAS Imagine 9.2 and MySQL.

Description : This project deals with the Geo – Spatial technological approach to analysis the satellite image (Landsat ETM+) to delineating the spatial features and its attribute characteristics. The RS software packages were used for Geometric and Radiometric correction of images and also for digital image processing, image classification with respect to spectral signature. Each features extracted and converted in to vector graphics then the volume and distribution also calculated and stored in Database.

PROJECT #2 : Watershed Modelling & Management.

Client : NABARD Bank

Organization : HiH Tamilnadu, Kancheepuram.

Package Used : Arc Info 7, Arc GIS 9.3. ERDAS Imagine 9.1 and

Garmin Handheld GPS Instrument.

Description : This is a project sponsored by NABARD Bank for Rural Develoment. Remote sensing and GIS modeling for watershed management involved to detect potential site for WAT, LRCD and Rain water harvesting structure construction by analyzing Geological and Geomorphological data integrated with GPS Survey. The project modeling and its implementation had successfully done and got appreciation from the client. This is first endeavour of introducing GIS Technique to carry out the project with more accuracy. The integrated Remote sensing, GIS and Civil Engineering planning had followed for this project such as, among 1000 sq.km area the proper surveyed using Garmin GPS instrument to apply GPS Points to Geo-referenced image for sample sets preparation and GIS software processes used to analysis the Geo-Spatial layers then they are integrated to other relevant data to select the suitable site where water can percolated more without or less soil erosion. The success of this project realized by observing the increases of ground water level in duck well and tube well in and around the project area.

Achievement:

Awadee of Govt of Tamilnadu – Maveeran Sundaralingam Award for Highest Scorer in M.Sc, RS & GIT in the Year of 2006 – 2008.

Offered Ph.D from Anna University in Center for Water Resources (CWR) in April 2009.

Coordinator responsibility for GIS – Youngster Forum in Rural Technology Center, Gandhigran University, Dindigul, Tamilnadu from Jan.2009 – May, 2009.
