Scherkenbach Families

Scherkenbach Families,

Winter is officially here! We would like to thank you for another month of support and generosity, our coupon book fundraiser has officially ended, and we came close to meeting our goal and were able to donate $250 to each grade level, as well as to our GATE program and our autism program! Our charity of the month food drive has also ended and we collected over 267 cans/boxes of food for Catholic Charities. Our donation will go directly into their Hands of Hope Food Pantry, benefitting over 300 families this holiday season. All this was made possible because of you. If you would like to volunteer, have a questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at .

PTA Holiday Social-

Come and enjoy a family night out with us in the MPR Friday, December 9 from 5:30-7:30. We will be enjoying cookies and hot cocoa, and playing bingo, and our Santa’s Workshop will be set up for students and families to shop! This is a great time to get in the holiday spirit and meet other families in our community, we hope to see you there!

Santa’s Workshop

For those new to our school, Santa’s Workshop is a PTA run holiday shop where students can come and shop for friends and family with gifts ranging from $0.25-$12. The shop will open FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9 after school at 3:30 and remain open during the Holiday Social. The Workshop will be open for shopping December 12-15 each morning from 8:00 – 8:45, and all day on Wednesday 12/14/16, which is Parent-Teacher Conference day. There is a link on the Scherkenbach home page showing the inventory list, please feel free to send in an order and cash or check with your child’s order between 12/12-12/14 and filled orders will be delivered to your child’s classroom on or before 12/16.

Charity of the month –

We are so excited to have our 2nd annual Angel Tree this month. This is a great way to help families in our very own Scherkenbach community by taking a tag and giving a helping hand. We will have the tree on the main playground by the MPR both before and after school, and also in the front office during the school day. Each tag is marked with a wish from a child, their gender, and age. We ask that gifts purchased are between $10-$25 and returned to your child’s teacher or front office by TUESDAY, DECEMBER 13, so gifts can be sorted and delivered to families before winter break. Please contact Jen Munoz with any questions/concerns at .
