6 PM Call to order

Treasurer’s Report – nothing to report

Student representative report – John Katz

Band camp is going well. We have already learned marching fundamentals, pre-game and the show music. Current standings in the band Olympics are 1st place Percussion, 2nd place guard and tied for 3rd place trumpets and clarinets. Convocation went well, the band sounded great. Up next is the exhibition on 8/16/16.

Old business – Council’s non-profit status currently on hold due to expense of applying for 501C3 status.

New business – Exhibition cookout planned for 5PM on 8/16/16. It’s the first, hopefully annual fundraiser to take the place of the buyout or fundraiser at the beginning of the year. The funds raised go to the band’s general budget. There is a Google doc online to sign up to volunteer at the event.

Committee reports:

Volunteers – Kim Turner is posting all volunteer jobs online with easy sign up through Google docs

Meals – Jenni Howard and Jenny Murphy will be working together to feed the kids. The first event is the first football game with the 8th grade band kids included. They will be served hotdogs and sides. Jenni will check to see if there are any food allergies to be aware of.

Bandwear - Tiffany Bodenhamer reported that the order has gone in. Shipment date is unknown. It is too late to place orders, but some extra items have been ordered.

Fundraising – William and Michelle Beteta presented current fundraisers, which are now all posted on WARUband.org. The car clings will be sold to raise money for scholarship funds. The scarves will be sold to raise money for the band parent council. All other fundraisers will support the individual students.

Concessions – Dianna Mans is signing up for several fall events and will post the available volunteer shifts when the schedule comes out. This is a good opportunity to raise money for an individual student’s account

Equipment – Paul Bures is looking for a couple more adult volunteers to help with set up before the show at football games and festivals. Kent Shore and William Beteta are already signed up to help. There is a new sound system to set up and everything has to be done very quickly. It does involve some heavy lifting as well.

First Aid – Kathy Hausthor will check the first aid kits and will try to find out which students have special medical needs

Water – Angela Dake is looking for a replacement. This is her 7th year in charge of water.

WRMS liaison – no report

Uniform – fittings have been going smoothly, all upperclassmen are finished

Videographer – Rob Sage reports new camera equipment has been purchased. He will video at all games and performances and post on the WARU band fan page, which is a public page. He will also need some blank discs to save the videos to. There is a possibility of having drone video, but it requires special permissions.
