Meeting called to order at 9:10 a.m.by Andrew Binegar, Council Chairperson.

Introductions made by everyone attending.

Agency Showcase-Integrated Services by Sam Shaffer. Serve diverse communities in Appalachian area. They recently partnered with Fairfield, Perry and Pickaway Counties to do case management with Medicaid families. All services are designed to operate within a broad framework of Collaborative Helping. They work with healthcare and community partners to design a strong home and community dimension for integrated primary care. This was available through a grant partnership with Job and Family Services. Services include behavioral services and case management to help families navigate systems and empower them to use resources available. Brochures and business cards provided. Integrated Services Referral Form provided in packet.

Agenda-accepted with no changes. Motion made by Kim Martin to accept agenda and seconded by Nick Tatman. All ayes. Motion passed

Secretary’s Report - Elaine Miller asked if any changes needed to be made to report. Motion made to accept Secretary’s report by Mike Pelcic and seconded by Tim Harris. All ayes. Motion passed.

Director’s Report: Presented by Kim Martin

TEAM for Youth- met with Kim and discussed expectations of committee per the By-Laws and reviewed service coordination mechanism. Currently have 33 active cases. Teays Valley is very active with referrals.

Teen Task Force- MarieWilbanks presented the update for Teen Task Force. They met on 5-5-2015 and discussed the Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying held on April 11, 2015. Event made a total of $2730. Discussed ways to use the money . Suggestions included more programs like “Engage and the peer-advocacy program. There is a great need for mentors in the community.

Help Me Grow – Kim Martin presented in Aimee Roberts absence. There was a funding cut of 10 % but Help Me Grow will not suffer as everything was done efficiently in our county. Great Job Help Me Grow Staff!

Committee Reports:

Executive Committee: The Executive Council Committeeon March 31, 2015. Shannon Clark explained to the committee about the need to changeKim’s budget lines from $5500 to $11,000 for time period from 1-26-15 through 6-30-15. Motion made by Mike Pelcic to accept the budget clarification and seconded by Nick Tatman. Motion approved. Kim is going to review her job description and update to better explain funding structures.

Service Coordination Committee- The committee met on April 23, 2015. Kim stated that it was an organizational meeting.

Children’s Trust Fund-The committee met to review how it is being used in the county. Kim visited with Fairfield County to get ideas on how to increase attendance in Incredible Years Program. Will be doing a new curriculum and trying to reduce costs in some program areas.

Finance- Shannon Clark updated FCFC on the audit that was recently completed. It cost 3507 and is done every two years. Next year, financial statements will be provided and it will cost only $300. Joy Ewing had a question about the negative balance. Shannon stated that there would be no carry over at the end of the year. Reimbursements will correct the negative balance. Council donations can be carried over. The council donations paid for the audit this year.

OLD BUSINESS

The Program against bullying at Westfall has been very successful. It is peer-to peer mentoring during the school day. Other schools are encouraged to look at this program.

NEW BUSINESS

Kim Martin provided the group with a quote about her new position. It was, “Collaboration can mean the difference between success and failure. “ She discussed making the meeting more productive for everyone.

Mentoring- OCU is discussing creating a work study program for mentoring using college students. Jan Shannon is the contact person.

Faith Based Mentors- Kim has been in contact with these organizations.

FCFC ENGAGE- This program target high risk groups with behavioral needs. It is a comprehensive and collaborative effort. The state provides $2000 funding per youth enrolled in this program. We need collaboration on this effort.

Great Expectations Career Camp- Julie Bolen from Pickaway Ross discussed how their agency and the Community United Methodist Church will work together to provide a career camp for 3rd grade through 8th grade. This helps show kids career pathways.

Resource Directory- Anyone may submit an update for the Resource Directory. Donna Solovey suggested if you were updating to print the digital page out and make corrections on it. New resources can fill out form submitted in the packet.

Kim mentioned other grant opportunities available from the Govenor’soffice in December.

Parent Education Cooperative- This program has monthly meetings. Kim wants to do a community calendar to show educational programs provided by all agencies.

Red Tree House- Kim asked that everyone post activities on this site to show where our county funding is being spent. It is a site to post parent programs and meeting.

Motion was made by Pam Hively to approve committee reports and was seconded by Mike Pelcic. All ayes. Motion passed.

AGENCY UPDATES:

Taniff Summer Youth Program for ages 16-24. starts May1 through August. Contact person Wendy Bennett at Ohio Means Jobs. This program benefits employers also.

CFS had Community Day at Crites Park in April. It was a huge success. Promoted child abuse prevention and foster care recruitment.

PCGHD is working on their Community Health Assessment.

Per Michelle Callahan, OCU work study program has 20 hour per week free tutoring program for K-12.

Commissioner Wippel commented how good the youth Program has been. He stated they used several of the youth to work in their offices.

AdamH is taking referrals.

Head Start is taking applications for the fall program. Corwin Street site is the location for the summer free lunch program. Donna Solovey is trying to find funds from the faith-based organizations to feed the adults as well. Times are 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM every day for walk-ins.

April Brown from Elizabeth Hope discussed a support group they have now for mothers who lost babies and are pregnant again.

Pam Hively from Workforce Services Unlimited discussed year round work initiative for youth similar to the Taniff Program for ages 16-24.

Tim Harris announced it was the last day of school and that the Circleville Middle School will be finished in August.

Marie Wilbanks stated Summer Olympics is now offering Swimming and Golfing. They need volunteers to help with this event. Family Fund Day will be held on July 25 and includes summer softball tournament. It will be held at Barthelmas Park.

Mental Health Services are being provided in Logan Elm School System.

Scioto Paint Valley 211 program offered help with resource directory.

Teays Valley gave Kim Martin a Thank You for all of her efforts .

Motion made to adjourn meeting at 10:15 am by Marie Wilbanks and seconded by Kim Martin. Motion passed.
