Manufacturing Processes and Systems Focus Area

Core Courses (6 credits):

All focus area students are required to take the following courses:

MIME 6720 Experimental Design 3

And one of the following three courses:

MIME 6xxx Assembly and Joining 3

MIME 6xxx Forming and Shaping 3

MIME 6xxx Material Removal Processes 3

Mathematics Requirement (3 credits)

Two courses must be taken from the Department List ofMathematics Courses for Masters Degree Students

Focus Area Requirements:

All students must take a minimum of 12 credits (including the courses taken above) at the 6000 level.

Students pursuing a thesis option must take 9 credits of thesis and an additional 12 credits of elective coursework approved by the thesis advisor for a total of 30 credits.

Students pursuing a project option must take 6 credits of project and 15 of elective coursework approved by the project advisor for a total of 30 credits.

Students pursuing coursework only option must take an additional 24 credits of elective coursework approved by the graduate student advisor for a total of 36 credits.

Other Degree Requirements:

Prerequisites: This degree programs requires the following two courses to be taken if equivalent courses were not taken as part of the Undergraduate studies. These courses will not be taken for credits fulfilling the Masters program above:

1) MIME 4060 Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent

2) MIME 4000 Engineering Statistics I
