Permanent

Join a fast moving, rapidly growing organisation working with young people across the country. The Challenge Network (TCN) runs community and youth programmes to mix diverse groups of people together to maximise their potential. The main one of these is, NCS - National Citizen Service.

We are now looking for Marketing Associate Managers (MAMs), working within the Marketing Team, to manage an area to recruit young people onto our programmes.

The Role

We are looking for energetic and creative people leaders to drive our efforts to enrol young people in regional Challenge Network programmes. The role requires a rare combination of strengths in people management, account management, and detailed process management. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an entrepreneurial and innovative organisation, grow in a dynamic and supportive environment and contribute to an exciting programme for social change.

The Marketing department is primarily responsible for signing up young people to take part in the NCS powered by The Challenge programme. With support from a Senior Marketing Manager, the MAM will lead a team of ~ 6-10 staff, which could include a mix of experienced Assistant Marketing Managers (AMMs) and new Sales and Marketing Schools’ Coordinators (SCs) and apprentices,to find, select and place 15-17 year-olds into The Challenge Network’s local programmes. The team will be responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships with schools, exciting young people and parents, and helping both through a detailed application and assignment process to undertake the programme. It represents a great opportunity to expand people leadership skills and to bring creativity to a marketing and sales approach that is still in development.

About NCS powered by The Challenge

The Challenge Network, (TCN) is a major provider of NCS in England and in 2013 gave 14,000 young people the opportunity to graduate from the NCS programme. TCN is the local NCS provider in London, West Midlands and The North West and has been successfully delivering the programme since the initial pilot in 2009.

NCS is a life changing experience for 15 to 17 year olds– they take part in a range of activities, meet new people and have the chance to give something back to their communities. Through NCS, their confidence grows as they learn new skills and have a great experience that they can put on CVs and university and college applications.
