THE INTERVIEW PROJECT
PARENT LETTER
Due: 04/16/10
April 14, 2010
Dear Parents,
Your child was recently assigned a project to interview a senior citizen or another adult that has had a significant influence on their life. After the interview, they will prepare that individual’s biography. It is a rare opportunity for students to know their grandparents or another senior citizen in a close intimate way that they would not otherwise experience. Many students give their interview projects to the individual they have chosen to honor as keepsakes that chronicle their family history.
Our students will need your help by assisting them in choosing their person to honor and reminding them to meet deadlines. Please keep in mind it will require some commitment by the interviewee. Students may need to conduct multiple meetings to gather enough information for the project.
In addition, this project has multiple due dates. I have done this so that the students do not procrastinate or wait to the last minute. In fact, some elements will be completed in class (ex. Bio-Poem).
By setting our expectations high and helping the children move toward those expectations, we will be amazed at the results this assignment will produce. This project will be due in completion 5/14/10.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hartman
