Ideas for Getting the Word Out through Social Media

  • If you’re planning a men’s day out, create a Facebook event. (As a background for your post, you can use a theme art jpeg fromMan of God; find it in CTA’s Resource & Idea Center.)
  • During the weeks leading up to your event, post weekly attention-getters to pique interest and encourage more men to attend. Perhaps you’ll be planning or working together on a service project. Or maybe you’ll be grilling an evening meal together. While you don’t want to give away all of your plans, sneak peeks can motivate attendance!
  • Father’s Day is the third Sunday of June. Post ideas for recognizingFather’s Day:
  • In recognition of Father’s Day, take a closer look at Jesus’ relationship to his heavenly Father. Bible concordances can help you discover insights into the roles of both Father and Son. Help dads (and moms, too) investigate the unique role that fathers play in a Christian home. Pray for all fathers to become closer to their heavenly Father.
  • As you celebrate Father’s Day, don’t forget to thank the brothers, uncles, sons, mentors, pastors, coaches, and teachers whose influence has made a difference in your life. Dads matter! (And so do other male Christian role models.)
  • As you gather with family on Father’s Day, take time to talk with or about your fathers and grandfathers. Where did they grow up? What challenges did God help them face? What is their greatest success? greatest joy? Consider recording your conversations to preserve the memories for future generations.
  • Father’s Day is a great time to work on your Family Tree—your “Faith Family Tree,” that is! Draw a tree trunk on a large piece of paper. Add one main branch for each member of your family, and make several “roots” growing from the base of the tree. Let each person name and label roots with names of people who have mentored them in their faith (former pastors/Sunday school teachers, relatives, friends, professors, and more.) When the “tree” is completed, together thank God for placing these special faith mentors in your lives. Also pray that the Lord will enable each of you to become a faith mentor for someone in the future!
  • This Father’s Day, ask each father in your family to share a favorite Scripture verse—words that have served as encouragement and guidance through their parenting years. Pray that God’s Word will help all dads as they parent and lead their households.
