Tasks:

ABB is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to provide management with consultancy and guidance on strategic and day-to-day Human Resources issues.
You’ll work as part of our Power Products team, which engineers solutions and products such as switchgear, capacitors, distribution, and traction transformers. We’re the world’s largest supplier of transformers and recently developed the highest-voltage direct current (DC) transformer ever.
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Gain an understanding of the business needs and coach management on organizational structure to ensure the right people are in the right positions to drive business results.
• Work with management to create and foster a safe, engaged, motivated, and customer-focused culture.
• Ensure compliance with all related laws and regulations.
• Help construct the business structure to meet the business
needs by focusing on the transformational and strategic aspects of HR and aligning the HR Roadmap to business strategy.
• Help line management to align employee’s capabilities (numbers, professions, locations, competencies) to the mid-to-long-term business needs.
• Develop culture and climate, and coaches line managers to become excellent leaders.
• Serve as consultant to the business unit to drive efficiency and effectiveness by proactively managing people and organizational challenges.
• Manage labor and employee relations programs for union and nonunion employees.
• Lead labor negotiations: first opportunity in 2018.
• Work closely with Labor Relations Manager to foster a positive business relationship with union leadership; analyze collective bargaining agreement and develop interpretation of intent, spirit, and terms of contract to counsel management in development and application of labor relations policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all HR activities contribute to the success of the business.
• Provide change management support for line management.
• Support health, safety, and environmental initiatives to maintain a safe work environment.
• Investigate complaints; consult with employment attorneys as needed.
• Lead or participate in special projects as assigned by business or HR.
• Partner with Human Resources Service Center, including but not limited to: Talent Acquisition, supporting recruitment and onboarding processes; People Development, working with management to identify development needs for business and hi-potential individuals, and to conduct succession planning; Policies and Procedures, ensuring adherence to policy; Compliance, ensuring compliance to Affirmative Action Plans and Equal Employment Opportunities, and supporting diversity initiatives; Performance Management, coaching management on performance processes, handling performance issues, and managing disciplinary and separation processes; and Compensation, advising management on compensation structures, merit process, and salary review decisions.
• Mentor and train Labor Relations Manager.
• Direct employees on how to access HR services.
• Report on a functional direct line to HR but also on a dotted line to the local General Manager.
• Member of local business staff management team.
• Assist in mergers and aquisitions projects.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree.

• 12 years of human resources experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SPHR certification.

• Experience in Manufacturing Operations.

• Experience in Labor Relations with lead negotiation experience

• High level of diplomacy.

• Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience in collaborating with HR Service Center concept.

• Demonstrated experience in leading change.
