Hi Rebecca. Thank You for Replying. I'm Not Sure Now What Part of My Questions You Have Seen

Hi Rebecca. Thank you for replying. I'm not sure now what part of my questions you have seen.

Bella had the near-drowning experience. She was not submerged under the water for any length of time but did spin around and under three times, so much so that I had to jump in the lake to save her. She was fine after the episode (Saturday), and the following day. By Monday though, she started displaying signs of disorientation. I took her to the vet and the first vet examined her. I told her about the disorientation concern - banging her head against the wall whilst walking away from her drinking bowl. Difficulty balancing. Apparently she didn't hear me as she thought that it might be something wrong with Bella's leg. They conducted a full blood panel, and a full body X-ray. All was perfect; except for the fact that we now know she has arthritis on her lower spine. My usual vet Peter talked to me about the options - and prescribed Metacam for the pain/inflammation. After a few days of giving her this, I could see there was no improvement, in fact, she was getting worse. Lethargic, very difficult for her to walk, disorientated. Still ate her food, and her treats. Still is. I took her back to the vet and this time he prescribed a blood thinner to "help the blood flow to the brain". She's been on this now for 3 days - no improvement. I'm now at the point that I think she needs a brain scan. I am worried sick because she seems to be deteriorating rather than improving one iota. Could her symptoms mean something else? Could they be unrelated to the near-drowning? I'm afraid of her having water on her brain/swelling, and this is causing the seizures. She's had 3 so far, 30hrs apart, +-. I have booked her in for an MRI as I feel it's the only answer. I do understand that it's merely a scan, but at least it might tell me something, and I can then look at treatment if of course it is treatable. Your advice on all of this would be much appreciated. I'm at my wits' end. Many thanks. Janet
