CRITERIA:

Candidates nominated to sit on theCHS Alliance board should meet the core competencies and expectations of board members as outlined in the requirements and background note.Eachfull member organisation may nominate one representative from its employees (e.g. CEO, operations director or humanitarian director), board or trustees.

INDEPENDENT BOARD MEMBER NOMINATION 2018

CRITERIA:

Full or associate members may nominate independent candidates who are not an employee or on the board of a full member organisation to sit on the CHS Alliance board.

Independent board members should:

  • Be able to constructively challenge member organisations
  • Enhance the credibility and independence of the CHS Alliance
  • Add skills and experience that will help advance the mission and vision of the CHS Alliance
  • Not concurrently be an employee or member of the board of a CHS Alliance full member
  • In addition to these nomination criteria, at least two independent board members should have had direct personal experience of armed conflict or other calamity as a refugee, an internally displaced person or as a claimant of humanitarian assistance or protection.
