First Interim Release for ICIS 2.0 Implemented Today

In Fiscal Year 2007, EPA is planning to implement quarterly interim releases to

ICIS 2.0 to improve performance and enhance the system. We are pleased to

announce that the first interim quarterly release has been implemented today.

This interim release includes the following improvements:

Alternative Method for Entering Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs)

Per request of our users, there is now a second, alternative method for

entering DMRs: the current Parameter View and the new Form View. The new DMR

Form View is similar to the PCS EDMR PCS-ADE data entry screen and mirrors the

actual DMR Preprint. It was designed for "heads down" data entry and does not

prepopulate fields like the Parameter View. The design and testing of this new

DMR functionality was done with participation from several of our current

direct user states and regions (New York, Indiana, Maryland, Utah, Nevada,

Hawaii, Region 1, Region 4, Region 6, Region 8, and Region 9). Thanks to

everyone for their help in designing and testing the new DMR Form View entry

method.

System Performance Improvements

The Permit Re-issuance and the Change Compliance Tracking functionality has

been optimized to increase their performance. While there has been no change

to functionality for these screens, users will observe that these screens will

perform faster. We are also working to optimize the current Add Limits

functionality is in progress. Since this optimization will significantly

improve Limit data entry, it will be implemented as soon as it is completed

rather than be held for the January interim quarterly release.

Federal FIFRA, TSCA and EPCRA §313 Enforcement and Compliance now in ICIS.

All FY2007 and future FIFRA, TSCA and EPCRA §313 compliance and enforcement

activities and accomplishments will now be officially tracked in ICIS.

Additional values have been added to the ICIS compliance monitoring type to

cover these three inspection programs. This will eliminate the need for double

data entry with the legacy system, the FIFRA/TSCA Tracking System (FTTS) and

the National Compliance Data Base (NCDB). FTTS/NCDB will continue to operate

in the regions and HQ with a more limited scope focused on the aggregate state

pesticide grant accomplishments. For more information on this change, see my

Assorted Fixes

We also fixed a variety of priority user reported problems in the system. And

we made some required security improvements (not visible to the user.) A list

of all the fixes will be available soon under the System Administration folder

in the ICIS Reporting Module.
