DIRECTIONS TO FIELD TRIAL GROUNDS

FROM State Route 71: Take the Euclid Ave./Butterfield Ranch Rd. exit. Go NORTH 2 miles on Euclid Ave. (past the main entrance to PradoRegionalPark) to Pine Avenue; turn right (EAST). Go 1.2 miles to Chino Corona Road and turn right (SOUTH). Drive past California Institute for Women (on your right side) to the Stop sign at the intersection of Chino Corona Road and Cucamonga Ave. Go straight on Cucamonga Ave. (continue at  below)

FROM 91 freeway traveling EAST: Take SR 71 Corona Expressway North. See “From State Route 71” above.

FROM 91 freeway traveling WEST: Take Lincoln Ave. North in Corona, go 1.2 miles north to River Road and turn Left. Drive 2.5 miles to the intersection of River Rd. and Archibald. (continue at  below)

FROM Interstate 15: Take 2nd Street Exit West in Norco to River Rd. Turn Right on River Rd. Go to the intersection of River Rd. and Archibald. (continue at )

 Go straight and you will now be on Archibald. Go to Chandler St. and turn left. Go to dead end and jog left (Hellman Ave) and immediate right onto Chino Corona Rd. Go 1.3 miles to Cucamonga Ave. Turn Left on Cucamonga Ave. (continue at )

 Go 1 mile to McCarty Road (not marked) and turn left. Go about ¼ mile and turn left into ModelAirplanePark. Please park as far away from runway as possible.

RUNNING ORDER OF THE TRIAL

The drawing of entries for all classes will take place on the field trial grounds at 7:00 AM (PST). Dogs must be present on the field trial grounds at the time of the drawing to be officially entered. OAAD & OAAB classes will be run consecutively but not necessarily in that order. Dogs must be 6 months of age or older on the day of the event to be entered. Bitches in season are eligible to run in the OAAB class. Field Champions will run after the completion of the open classes. The winners of the OAAD and OAAB classes, if eligible, will compete with the winner of the FC class, if eligible, for Absolute. DCSAV and Sierra reserve the right to run classes in Divisions if necessary for the timely completion of the trial.The field trials will be held regardless of weather.

PRIZES

The Dachshund Club of Santa Ana Valley (DCSAV) and the Sierra Dachshund Breeder's Club of Los Angeles County offers Rosettes for all placed dogs and NBQ in the following classes: Open All-Age Dog and Open All-Age Bitch, or Open All-Age Combined, and Field Champion. The clubs also offer a Rosette for the Absolute winner. DCSAV offers (Saturday) embroidered rabbit towels for all placements in all classes and a Glass Rabbit Covered Dishfor Absolute and Best Open All Age. Sierra offers (Sunday) a Rabbit Dog Toy(donated by A. Lentz) for all 1st place class winnersand 2 Dachshund Coat Hooks (donated by J. Oswald & J. Smith) for Absolute.

The Dachshund Club of America, Inc. further offers to the winner of Open All Age Dog Stake and/or Open All Age Bitch Stake, and Field Champion Dog Stake and/or Field Champion Bitch Stake its Brass Sunburst Medallion when entries in that class are 12 or more.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The Pomona Valley Model Airplane Club has graciously allowed us to share their facilities. They sponsor a “Toys for Tots” Christmas drive, please bring a new, unwrapped toy, minimum $20 value, to contribute and give it or cash, no minimum amount, to the Field Trial Secretary.

Note: There are no potluck lunches at these trials!

Breakfast is complementary and includes pastries, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. A hot lunch (BBQ turkey on Saturday!) will be served daily for $5.00 per day. Judges’ lunches are complimentary on the day(s) they judge. Field Marshals’ lunches are also complimentary on the day(s) they marshal. Payment for each day’s lunch must be made before roll call to ensure we have enough to serve everyone. Please note that if you are not joining us for lunch the field trial site is remote, in other words, no fast food nearby!

I (WE) ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE "Rules Applying to Dog Shows/Registration and Discipline" and, if this entry is for a Dachshund Field Trial, the "Regulations for Dachshund Field Trials", have been made available to me (us) and that I am (we are) familiar with their contents. I (we) waive any and all claims, causes of action, I (we) might otherwise have against the AKC and any AKC approved judge, judging at this trial under AKC Rules, Regulations and Guidelines. I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem to be sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of the field trial and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prize money, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold this club, its members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or trial secretary and owner or lessor of the premises and any employees of the aforementioned parties, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or upon the field trial test premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss of this dog by disappearance, theft, death or otherwise, and from any claim for damage or injury to the dog, whether such loss, disappearance, theft, damage or injury, be caused or alleged to be caused by the negligence of the club or any of the parties aforementioned, or by the negligence of any other person, or any other cause or causes.

Additionally, I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves) or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this field trial, howsoever such injuries, death or damage to property may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been caused or may be alleged to have been caused by negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees or agents, or any other person. I (we) agree that any cause of action, controversy or claim arising out of or related to the entry, exhibition or attendance at the event between the AKC and myself (ourselves) or as to the construction, interpretation and effect of the Agreement shall be settled by arbitration pursuant to the applicable rules of the American Arbitration Association. However, prior to arbitration all applicable AKC Bylaws, rules and procedures must first be followed as set forth in the AKC Charter and Bylaws, rules, published policies and guidelines.
