INFORMATION ABOUT THE ALL CITY STRING FESTIVAL

Strings students from across the district will be participating in the Appleton Area School District’s upcoming

All City String Festival to be held at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center on April 17, 2012.

The one hour concert begins at 7:00 PM.

PLEASE NOTE THE IMPORTANT CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS:

This year, all tickets will be reserved seating and handled through the P.A.C. Ticket Office. You can purchase reserved seats by phone, or by going to the P.A.C. Ticket Office. Ticket cost is $5.00. Remember that the city has changed the parking fees, and the parking in the PAC ramp is $2 (cash only).

Because of the large number of students participating, we anticipate a sold-out performance. Please obtain your tickets as soon as possible to guarantee seating, because once they are gone…they are gone.

Students who qualify for free or reduced lunch will receive vouchers from their orchestra teacher. You must take these vouchers to the P.A.C. ticket office in person to get your free tickets. To assure seating, these vouchers should be redeemed at the P.A.C. ticket office as soon as possible because we anticipate a sold-out performance. Vouchers cannot be used for phone orders.

P.A.C. Ticket Office Hours: Monday-Friday 10 AM – 6 PM; Saturday 10 AM – 2 PM

We are asking for your help on behalf of the growing number of students who do not have adequate funds to rent instruments. If we receive your donation before April 9th, we will hold complimentary tickets in the Dress Circle for you as a thank you. Please see attached letter for details on how to donate.

We also need parent volunteers to help with this event.

  • Bus chaperones
  • Help escort students on and off the stage during the concert and rehearsals (please see schedule below)

In preparation for the festival, students will be bused to the P.A.C. for rehearsals on that day according to the schedule below. Transportation to the rehearsal will be by school bus. Please sign this permission form and return it to your child’s string instructor before the day of the rehearsal. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s string instructor or the Fine Arts Office.

8:00-9:30 a.m. High School Students rehearse

9:30-10:45 a.m. Elementary Students rehearse

12:30-1:45 p.m. Middle School Students rehearse

6:30 p.m. Students arrive at P.A.C.

7:00 p.m. Concert begins

Please detach and return to your student’s string teacher.

I give my permission for to attend the festival rehearsal according to the schedule listed above. I understand that my child will be returned to his/her home school before the end of the school day.
