- Arrangement of inputs for wheat, oat, and pea viz seed, fertilizer, etc. If not done yet, start field preparation for these crops.
- Sowing of wheat, oats, and peas may be done wherever fields are ready.
- Sowing of Brown Sarson should be started wherever fields are ready.
- Provide drainage channels in the fields wherever there is probability of water accumulation during winter months.
- Pick saffron flowers on 2nd day of emergence in early morning hours in craft paper bag /willow baskets for substantial saffron recovery and quality.
- Stigma should be separated within 10-12 hours of flower picking for maximum pistil recovery.
- Dry saffron at temperature range of 40 –500C in hot air dryers for 4-7 hours or in solar dryers.
- Store saffron at 100C and 8% moisture content in air tight containers.
Vegetables / Sowing /
- Sowing of peas may be continued.
- Onion seedlings may be transplanted when soil is workable.
- Land may be prepared for sowing leafy vegetables and planting bulb crops if soil is workable.
