Progress Reports

Progress Reports for all students will be sent home Friday, November 17. Grades 1 to 8 Progress Reports indicate how a child is progressing in the subjects covered to date. There are 3 categories: Progressing With Difficulty means that a child will require improvement and/or assistance to meet the provincial standard at the end of the term/year. Progressing Well means that there is evidence that a child is meeting or will meet the provincial standard by the end of the term/year. Progressing Very Well means that there is very consistent evidence that a child is meeting or will meet, or is exceeding or will exceed, the provincial standard. In all three categories, teachers use their professional judgment and knowledge of the individual child to make a final determination.

Student Led Conferences

Student Led Conferences for Grades 1 to 8 and Parent-Teacher Interviews for kindergarten students will take place Thursday, November 23 in the evening and Friday, November 24 in the morning. Since the conferences are led by the students, if you have specific items you would like to discuss directly with your child’s classroom teacher, please send a note asking the teacher to contact you.

Spoons

A friendly reminder to please pack a spoon or fork in your child’s lunch. We are trying to minimize providing plastic utensils that end in our landfills.

Playground Equipment

Due to ice and snow during the fall and winter months, students are at a greater risk of falling or slipping off the playground equipment. To ensure the safety of students, equipment will be closed when the gravel becomes frozen. If your children are visiting the school property during the evenings, on weekends or during holidays, kindly remind them to stay off the equipment until better weather returns.
