2016 Most Promising Startup Award - Application Form

Application Deadline: November 25, 2016

It focuses on highlighting the innovation, technical and marketing excellence, customer acceptance/market success– a true leadership offering by a start-up. Companies legally headquartered in India with at least 60% of Engineering in India are eligible to apply. Company that has a unique business model addressing the Indian market and overseas and its products, services and IP are a game changer to the ESDM ecosystem should participate under this category.

Any company that has a direct/formal presence in India and does product development in India can apply.

Selection Criteria

o  Company should be less than three years old.

o  Any company with product/technology meeting the above requirements can apply. IESA membership is not required.

o  Innovation (Significant portion) should have happened in India.

o  Companies applying should have a clear “ownership” of the IP. For example, a company that has developed the IP for some other company as an engineering services provider cannot apply unless it is the “owner” of the IP. The other company that “owns” can of course apply.

o  Companies need to provide details on the Technology, customer testimonials, demand, success, any industry recognition/awards etc.

o  The winner will be a compelling Electronics or Semiconductor product or IP start-up selected based on

§  Outstanding technology

§  Novelty

§  Effectiveness in addressing a need or defining a new market

§  Actual business impact or potential for market impact

§  Cost effectiveness of solution versus competing technology

§  Performance metrics of solution versus competing technology

§  Products which are environmentally friendly would get bonus points
