INSTRUCTIONS FOR REGISTERING FOR INDEPENDENT STUDY
(CIVE 695A-K)
1.The student desiring a course arranges a meeting with one of the faculty in the particular field (A-K) in which he desires to pursue a special study.
2.Student and advisor or professor discuss the special study interest of the student and agree on subject, work involved, credits to be allowed, laboratory and equipment to be used, semester in which study will be made and any other items necessary for a clear understanding of the subject.
3.Student prepares and submits a "Proposal for Special Study in Civil Engineering" on a separate sheet of paper from the form (see page 2-Description).
4.Upon approval of the proposal the student will be so advised and will be permitted to register for the course obtaining the registration number from Room A201A Engineering.
NOTE:The above actions should be started early enough to insure completion in time to allow registration for the semester in which the special study is to be made.
