Ethnobotanical Field ResearcherAugust 1999- December 1999

  • Designed an ethnobotanical study that looked at the relationships members of the San Vito community had with medicinal plants in their village.
  • Study involved interviewing villagers and asking questions about medicinal plants they grew themselves, the medicinal plants they collected in the wild, and the uses they had for the plants.
  • Collected field samples of the plants, pressing and drying them and delivering them to the Botanical Garden Collection.
  • Culminated with a presentation of plants and findings at UC Santa Cruz in spring of 2000.
