NEWSLETTER – Autumn Term 2014 – Issue 3 – Friday 26th September 2014
Dear Parents,
WW1 COMPETITION
Before the summer holidays, all classes were able to take part in a competition run by Walsall Council to design a book based on WW1, to be displayed in the Council house during the summer holidays. As part of our prize for being runners up, five Y6 pupils were able to go on Wednesday 24th September 2014 to the council house to the Mayor’s Parlour. Although all children took part, I would like to say well done to the children that represented Abbey Primary so well.
PARENT’S EVENING
This will take place on the evening of Tuesday 30th September and Thursday 2nd October 2014 from 3.00pm until 5.30pm. This will be an opportunity for you to see the progress your child made last year, and for you to see how they have started in their new year group. It will also give you a chance to see the targets that have been set by the class teacher and how you can support the achievement of those targets.
I look forward to seeing you during the evening, please come through the office entrance as usual and you will be directed to where your parent’s consultation will take place.

ABSENCES
If your child is absent for whatever reason we have a policy of ringing parents on the first day. Please can you help us by ringing the office, leaving a message if necessary so that we know why your child is away. This term, so far, our attendance was above the national expectations set of 95%, so thank you everyone who has helped contribute towards this achievement.
