Post: Fundraising Manager

Responsibleto:Head of Income Generation

Direct Reports: Corporate, Community and Events Fundraisers

Summary of Role:

  • Provide leadership to the fundraising team and deputise for the Head of Income Generation as required.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate direct reports to achieve shared aims and agreed objectives.
  • Deliver a portfolio of fundraising activities to increase unrestricted income from a variety of supporters and deliver on agreed targets.
  • Develop and implement successful corporate and communityfundraising partnerships, campaigns and appeals, innovative donor-centric stewardship programme, and manage the day-to-day fundraising operations.
  • To work collaboratively with volunteers and community based groups to maximise income and awareness to generate ‘in aid’ of fundraising income and other forms of support for the Hospice.
  • Assisting the Head of Income Generation with the delivery of the overall fundraising strategy, operational and marketing plans.

Key Responsibilities

1.To develop new strong and profitable corporate relationships, and develop plans for retaining and managing existing corporate partnerships,demonstrating exemplary standards of supporter care at all times.

2. Ensure the successful delivery of a portfolio of events (including mass participation) organised by the fundraising team, and support to third parties, community groups, corporates, and regional supporters to sustain and grow income from existing and new sources to meet targets and ensure they are delivered within budget.

3. Responsible for managing and developing high quality relationships with supporters that raise money ‘in aid’ of the Hospice and provide a personalised supporter care journey to ensure they reach their maximum fundraising potential.

4. To assist the Marketing team with creating robust strategy plans to support all fundraising initiatives to maximise the potential income from all campaigns and appeals, including digital media.

5. Develop and maintain good working relations by working collaboratively with internal/externalstakeholders such as Finance, Clinical Services, andcorporates, community clubs, organisations, universities, schools and colleges, relevant community leaders/councils and Friends of the Hospice groups.

6. To maintain and develop effective processes and procedures for managing fundraising activities and to ensure legal and regulatory compliance with with laws associated to fundraising e.g. Fundraising Regulator, Charities Act 2016, Data Protection Act (GDPR), PECR, and Gambling Act 2005.

7. Provide high quality and continually improving management reporting, complete analysis to identify trends and patterns, andmonitor income and expenditure budgetsagainst agreed targets.

8. To represent the Hospice in a professional manner within the communityand attend networking events, meetings, forums, delivering high quality presentations as and when required.

9.Leading the teams day-to-day operational planning to ensure that all fundraising activities are delivered to a high standard and in a timely manner.

10. To produce high quality communications in a timely manner to supporters, e.g. reports, letters etc.

11. Ensure that all individual and organisation supporter data is stored and maintained on Raisers Edge and is compliant with associated fundraising legislation.

12. To lead, coach, and support the team to achieve agreed fundraising targets through regular reviews, setting objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

General

1.To plan short, medium and longer team activity in accordance with the Hospice’s FiveYear strategy for Service Development.

2.To support the core objective’s and values of the hospice and positively promote the work and activities of the Shakespeare Hospice at all times.

3.To participate in the annual appraisal programme.

4. To undertake mandatory training.

6.Adhere to all hospice policies and procedures.

7.To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post and as requested by your line manager/senior management.
