Adda Alexander was remembered for her dedication to nursing and her advocacy for patient safety.
Agendas were distributed. Minutes of the April 2014 meeting were approved.

The membership is encouraged to come relax and network at our pool-side retreat on Thursday evening. This was a great success last year with reasonable rates and a great setting. CNO’s across the state will receive personal invitations
2015 Meeting Dates:
January 30, 2015
April 15, 2015: AONE 2015 Conference will be held in Phoenix April 15-18, 2015, hosted by our AzONE chapter. Volunteers will be needed with options for reduced registration fees. We expect 4,000 attendees for the event.

Strategic Plan Update-
The Board has begun a journey towards AONE affiliation by 2016; including 5013C status. We will need to secure insurance and will work with an accountant and attorney to guide us in this process. / Minutes approved as presented.
Membership Report / Lamont reported 184 current members. Our highest membership was 220 in 2013. Membership forms were made available at the meeting and on-line. / Submit renewals or initial memberships by paper form or website
Treasurer’s Report / Financial report distributed to attendees.
Additional funding will be budgeted for the process of formal affiliation with AONE to include not for profit status and Director’s insurance. / Treasurer’s report accepted as presented.
AzHA / ·  Legislation not currently in session, however a safe staffing bill was defeated last session. AzNA expects it to reappear with more credibility. AzNA has started a task force on the subject of safe staffing and ratios; AzONE is represented on the task force.
·  2.8 million plus matching funds awarded to Critical Access Hospitals.
·  With Medicaid expansion, estimate additional 168,000 enrollees.
·  Still assessing the impact of the Health Insurance Exchange, since AZ does not have a state exchange it has been hard to determine the exact impact.
·  Encourage all to vote in the upcoming elections!
AzNA Report (Carol Stevens) / Care Coordination Symposium planned for October 24, 2014.
The Public Policy committee is working with legislative candidates.
Task force exploring safe staffing recommendations
Az State Board / Live video streaming of the board meetings can be watched on-line.
Process in place to electronically notify nurses of lapsed licenses.
Az Action Coalition /Award Presentation / Today’s first Nursing Leadership in Action Awards are sponsored by the Action Coalition with the collaboration of multiple nurse organizations.
