POMS-2006 Meeting in Boston, April 28, May 1, 2006
Information on Overflow Hotels
Due to the record registrations for the POMS-2006 meeting in Boston, there are very few room nights available at the Hyatt, the conference hotel. Therefore, we have arranged hotel room conference rates at two overflow hotels – The Seaport ($199 per night plus tax) and the Langham ($216 per night plus tax).
SEAPORT HOTEL:
The Seaport Hotel will use a call-in method for reservations for the POMS meeting (1-877-SEAPORT or 617-385-4000). They were not able to create an online reservation method due to the last minute request from us. Tell the reservation agent that you are with either POMS or the Production & Operations Management Meeting. The POMS rate for this hotel is $199 per night for either single or double (plus tax). At this time, they have many rooms available, but they will not hold them exclusively for us, so do not delay making your reservations.
The Seaport Hotel notes that they have recently completed guestroom renovations and all in-room amenities were upgraded as well. They also provide the following complimentary amenities: high speed and wireless internet in guestrooms, wireless internet in public space, access fitness center, 24 hr business center with selected complimentary services.
The Seaport World Trade Center complex provides free shuttle service to the Financial District. Continuous service is provided during morning and evening commute periods from the Seaport Hotel to State Street. The Hyatt Regency Boston is a 5-10 minute walk or you may also take the Orange Line ($1.25) to Downtown Crossing. Shuttle times are posted on their website (www.seaportboston.com) under Travel Tools.
LANGHAM HOTEL:
The Langham Hotel is a 5 minute walk to the Hyatt. They have a dedicated website for POMS members’ reservations:

Rates are $216 per night for single or double (plus tax). The Langham has reserved a block of 25 rooms from 4/27 (arrival date) through 5/1 (departure date). You may make a reservation for any number of days within this timeframe at the POMS rate.
