The fourth Scotland Tartan Day trip, which is fully supported by Carnoustie Golf Links, the sister-course of Tiger Beach Golf Links, is coming. During this seven-day tour to Scotland, not only will you be swinging at Carnoustie, the 2007 British Open venue, and the St Andrews Old Course, the home of golf, you will also experience the 500-year-old Montrose Links Golf Course. You can also experience the Scottish traditional Tartan Day, have dinner in Glamis Castle, the childhood home of the Queen Mother, and savor the flavor of authentic Scotland whisky, among other attractions.

Schedule:

Saturday April 4

Travel to Glasgow, Scotland, independently and stay in the five-star Mar Hall Hotel. Early arrivals can go sightseeing or shop in the old streets of the country’s biggest city. There is no specific arrangement for this day.

Sunday April 5

Go to Edinburgh to sightsee for half a day in the morning.

Leave for Glamis Castle after lunch. Glamis is the edifice of the forefathers of the Earl of Strathmore and a home of kings and queens. From 1,372 the castle became the residence of the British royal family. It is also the place where Queen Elizabeth spent her childhood and Princess Margaret was born. A welcome dinner will be held at Glamis Castle with accommodation provided at the Carnoustie Golf Hotel.

Monday April 6

Experience the challenge of the Montrose Links, the fifth oldest course in the world, in the morning. Montrose Links is a pure seaside course known for its heavily undulating fairways, fast greens and magnificent views. At night, the Carnoustie Golf Hotel will host a “Scotland Night” with traditional Scotland cuisine and dancing to bagpipe melodies.

Tuesday April 7

The morning tees off with a round at the Gleneagles’ Kings Course. The club, which opened in 1919, was designed by James Braid, the five time British Open winner, and redesigned by Jack Nicklaus, the greatest golfer of 20th century. It is a first class inland course and also a challenging example of target golf, much loved by both professional and amateur golfers alike.

In the evening, a whisky appreciation party with a traditional Scotland cabaret performance will be held.

Wednesday April 8

Play golf at the Carnoustie Golf Links Championship Course in the morning. Leave for St Andrews in the afternoon and stay in the St Andrews Old Course Hotel.

Carnoustie, the 2007 British Open venue, is one of the classic seaside golf courses in Britain. Tiger Beach Golf Links is the only sister-course of the famed Scottish club in the world. In fine weather, Carnoustie is considered the most challenging course in Britain. It is such a demanding course that it attracts the greatest golfers in the world to experience its challenges.

Thursday April 9

No specific arrangement on this day. Possible activities include sightseeing in the ancient town of St. Andrews, shopping, visiting the golf museum, or playing golf at the new Castle Course at St Andrews. Kingsbarns, another option, is recognized as one of the five best seaside golf courses in the world, and hosts the Dunhill Invitational every year. You can savor the 800 year golf history in St. Andrews town where golf culture is celebrated.

Accommodations are in the St. Andrews Old Course Hotel.

Friday April l 0

Play golf on the famed St Andrews Old Course with a prize presentation party in Carnoustie Golf Hotel after the competition.

St. Andrews Old Course is on the grounds where golf originated more than 500 years ago and to this day sets the trends in golf development. It holds the British Open at least once every five years and is hugely popular with visitors worldwide. The natural evolution of the old seaside course is evident in the waving sand dunes, a vast and ancient landscape, and broad environment. These features often shock golf lovers who are willing to challenge the course.

Saturday April 11

Transportation to Edinburgh and return home on your own.

1.  Fees for Silport members and their family members are 2,450 British pounds per person; non-Silport members are 2,650 pounds per person.

2.  Fees includes all transport, accommodation, golf and caddie fee for four rounds of golf. Lunch and dinner are also included on the golf days. If you choose to play golf on the Castle Course on April 9, you should pay all the fees except the green fee. The dinners on April 4 and 9 are not included. There is no specific arrangement on these two days. All air travel is to be paid by the individuals.

3.  Accommodation: Two persons share one room; one should pay 240 pounds additionally if he or she doesn’t want to share. The fees for a non-golfer are 1,600 pounds.

4.  All fees should be paid before January 30, 2009; there will be no refund for cancellation.

5.  All fees are charged in pounds. Please account for the exchange rate when paying.
