AGRO AWARDS PROGRAM
> Important note: At its October 21, 2015 meeting, the OFB Membership Committee unanimously decided to send the county Farm Bureau one check for membership achievements instead of checks or gift cards for individual people. This gives the county the responsibility of divvying out money to individuals where appropriate, including the person(s) who filled out the Agro Award application and/or the membership chair.
Judging of awards will be governed by the following:
1. You can apply for AGRO Awards EVEN IF you do not achieve your membership goal.
2. Judging for AGRO awards will be based upon actual achievements as described on the application forms submitted by the appointed date. The absence of an official committee will not disqualify you from competition. Attach additional material when appropriate to help judges evaluate your entry. You may include pictures, news clippings, outlines, programs, etc. Programs to be judged are those implemented by the County Farm Bureau from October 1, 2015 through the current membership year.
3. It is understood that not all County Farm Bureaus have the capacity to participate in every program area.
4. Each program area will be judged separately. The ten programs for competition include:
§ Local Government Activities (page 4)
§ State Government Activities (page 4)
§ National Government Activities (page 4)
§ Policy Development & Resolutions (page 5)
§ Farm Bureau Women’s Committee (page 6)
§ Health & Safety (page 7)
§ Membership Acquisition & Retention (page 8)
§ Young Farmers & Ranchers (page 9)
§ Information/Publicity and/or Community Relations and Outreach (page10)
§ Special Programs (page 11)
5. Counties attaining membership goal are automatically awarded one star.
6. All forms are to be received at the Oregon Farm Bureau office by 4:30 PM, October 31, 2016. Please avoid FAXES if possible.
7. Agro Award program books will be available for return at convention. You may reclaim them by contacting the registration desk.
8. Some activities of a program may also be associated and included in other program categories. For example, a county Women's Program may have an activity that is designed to acquire new members. That activity can be identified in both the Women's Program category and the Membership Program category.
