Electable posts:

  • Chairperson/General Manager
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Vice secretary

Proposed duties:

Along with making general decisions regarding the running of the club the committee will have defined responsibilities;

  • Chairperson: Will oversee the running of the club. They will act as the spokesperson and represent and promote the club. They will be the contact point with relevant Dodgeball organisations (UKDBA, NIDBA) and be responsible for entering teams into competitions. They will organise AGM's and committee meetings to make decisions and look after the club kit/jersey orders and equipment orders. Chairperson will oversee and delegate tasks to committee members and provide guidance and support.
  • Treasurer: Liase with committee on finance matters, devise a payment structure for the club, keep simple records of club income and expenditure, collect monies that the club is owed, seek funds/sponsorship if required.
  • Secretary and Vice Secretary: Will divide the following duties as seen fit: PRO Media officer (in charge of website, twitter, facebook, photos etc), Trampoline Dodgeball, Bookings Officer (accommodation for away tournaments/outings and sports halls) and Player Welfare and Safety.

AGM Voting:

  • Every member of the club has a vote, provided they have been a consistent club member for at least 2 months or 8 training sessions. The 8 sessions can only be over a maximum time frame of 3 months, otherwise you are not consistent. If you have been away from the club for more than a year, your voting rights are withheld and you must start over.
  • Every member of the club is entitled to run for a committee position provided they have been an active member of the club for at least 6 months. In this way they will have become familiar with the ethos of the club. In order to be an active member you must fulfil the criteria for voting, followed by attending 4 or more training sessions per month in the following months.
  • Voting will take place by a show of hands by members present at the AGM.

Standing for a position:

  • In order to run you for a committee position you must forward yourself and be nominated by someone who qualifies for voting rights. Submissions for positions must be received in writing (email acceptable) by club chairperson (de facto for AGM 2015) 48 hours before any AGM.
  • Anyone running for a position must prepare a short (2min maximum) presentation on why they should be voted in.

Other positions:

  • ENTS Committee: Volunteers will be asked at the AGM to form a separate ENTS committee, who will look after nights out, birthdays, cakes, Christmas party, leavings, etc... The ENTS committee have no voting rights on the board, but people can hold a position on the ENTS committee and board as long as their board work doesn't suffer. The ENTS committee report to the board before releasing any event details.
  • Coach/Management team: The position of coach is only voted upon and ratified by the committee. This will take place annually after the AGM. Club coach has novote in committee matters. The position of coach doesn't have to be held by an individual and can be a management team if deemed appropriate by the board. Like the ENTS committee, the position of coach can be held by a board member. The coach/management team will take training sessions, devise drills, research the sport, watch high level games to further learning, make equipment suggestions and make team selections for tournaments/leagues.
