The NC pair (i, j) describes the interacting pair, where i and j denote the type of amino acid and their position in the 64-mer sequence (see Figure 8). Native contacts that form the critical folding nuclei are marked by an asterisk (*, X, Y), where X and Y denote whether the contact formed is inter-chain (InterC), intra-chain within fragment 1 (1), or intra-chain within fragment 2 (2) for the N-split64 and the C-split64, respectively. One extra contact (**) describes the folded structure of the split systems as a result of the additional link that needs to form at the site of fragmentation.
