“Raising funds for research gives me hope that a cure will be found”.

“Volunteering lets me focus on what I can do, rather than what I can’t do because of my Parkinson’s.”

We want every volunteer to feel supported in their role. Whatever role you end up doing with us, we will ensure you have the training and support you need to do it successfully. Therefore, all Parkinson’s UK volunteers can expect the following:

Volunteering at Parkinson’s UK

You can volunteer for us in lots of different ways, from giving talks to raise awareness about Parkinson’s to helping to run one of our hundreds of volunteer-led support groups. For more information on the different ways you can get involved in our work take a look at our website Whatever volunteer role you decide to do, you'll be helping our work to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

WHO CAN BECOME A VOLUNTEER?

We welcome a wide range of volunteers, from diverse backgrounds. If you are from the European Union, you are free to volunteer in the UK. For those from outside the EU, you will need to check that your visa allows you to volunteer. We advise that you contact the UK Borders and Immigration Agency to find out. Unfortunately, Parkinson’s UK is not able to sponsor volunteer visas.

Currently all of our volunteer roles require you to be at least 18 years old, however, if you are under 18 and are interested in getting involved in our work there are still many different ways you can support us, including raising funds for Parkinson’s UK. For more information please visit our website.

We know many volunteers get involved in our work to gain experience or learn new skills. Whilst we encourage this, we are unable to offer work experience or educational placements as part of our volunteer programme. For any queries regarding work experience placements please contact our HR Team on 0207 932 1310.
