What is Special Olympics?
Special Olympics is a year-round competitive sports program for children and adults with mental retardation. Athletes must be at least 8 years of age to participate and have a Special Olympics Application for Participation form (medical) completed.
Athletes are why we exist,
Volunteers are how we exist
Volunteers are the lifeblood of Special Olympics in the Grants Pass area. They serve as coaches, trainers, fundraisers, transportation providers, and countless other valuable roles. What our volunteers donate is priceless.
Our programs are free to all eligible athletes and are possible thanks to the generous support of individuals and businesses who believe in Special Olympics. We are not a United Way agency and receive no federal funds. Financial support comes almost exclusively from local fundraising programs.
