From the summer of 1958, when she first met Le Corbusier in Cap Martin, until today, Heidi Weber has worked tirelessly to popularize his work. She was the first to have certain pieces of Le Corbusier’s furniture industrially manufactured, she published his graphic works, and she organized countless exhibitions devoted to him. She even had Le Corbusier himself design a building especially for her collection: the Heidi Weber Museum ("La Maison de l’Homme") in Zurich, which opened in 1967; it is the only museum in the world exclusively devoted to the great architect’s work as a visual artist. This volume documents these fifty years of activity with illustrations of more than one hundred of Le Corbusier’s works from Heidi Weber’s collection, including paintings, drawings, collages, sculptures, tapestries, furniture, plans, and models. It not only tells the story of a woman of tireless commitment and vision; it offers a fascinating synthesis of Le Corbusier’s work as a visual artist in all its myriad facets.

Few human enterprises have the impact and the influence that neuroscience has. We can now examine our highest functions and malfunctions, including the processes of learning, aging, and behavior. The knowledge gained gives humankind previously unimaginable power for improvement, but also great responsibility that the knowledge be used for beneficial, not harmful, purposes. This is the third edition of the Handbook of Neurochemistry and Molecular Neurobiology. The fact that the present edition is about 3 times the size of the previous edition—27 volumes—is an indication of the rapid and exciting acquisition of additional information about the mechanisms, interactions, and structures involved in the functions of the nervous system.
SELLING POINTS:
· This edition are focused on available knowledge in neurochemistry and molecular biology of the nervous system
· Successful research requires interdisciplinary teamwork, where the lines between neurochemistry and related areas are obscure and need to be crossed.

The book begins with a discussion of vibrations in linear systems with one degree of freedom, providing a mathematical and physical basis for the subsequent chapters. Linear systems with many degrees of freedom serve to introduce the modal analysis of vibrations as well as some useful computational procedures. The book then turns to continuous linear systems, discussing both analytical solutions that provide physical insights as well as discretization techniques that supply tools for actual computation. The discussion of nonlinear vibrations includes a treatment of chaotic vibrations and other new insights. The book concludes with detailed discussions of the dynamics of rotating and reciprocating machinery. To make the material accessible to students, topics are covered in a number of small and concise chapters.
SELLING POINTS:
