As a school, we will:
· Provide hands-on learning daily
· Read to students a minimum of four times daily
· Provide a Take-Home Literacy bag
· Provide homework activities that supports activities learned in school
· Provide small group instruction in literacy and math daily
· Provide monthly vocabulary packets related to the unit of study in class
· Implement technology daily
· Provide weekly science experiments
· Communicate feedback from assessments given in class
· Maintain a portfolio to share with parents
· Reinforce Social Skills throughout the day
· Conference with parents a minimum of at 3 times a year
· Provide timely Progress Reports
As a parent, I will:
· Ask my child about their learning at school
· Promote the importance of reading by reading, listening, and providing reading materials for my child
· Visit the local library regularly
· Work with my child on homework activities
· Review the monthly vocabulary list with my child
· Participate in Family Literacy, Math and Science Nights at MLK
· Attend Parent Conferences
· Reinforce and support Social Skills at home
· Communicate regularly with my child’s teacher
· Volunteer to assist as needed
· Assure my child to comes to school everyday and arrives on time

El éxito de un niño depende de un compromiso de cooperación fuerte entre la escuela y el hogar.
Como padre, me comprometo a:
· Promover la importancia de la lectura a mi niño/a, leyéndole, escuchándole y proveyendo materiales de lectura.
· Repasare la lista de vocabulario mensual con mi hijo.
· Comunicarme regularmente con la maestro de mi hijo/a.
· Revisar el folder de mi hijo(a) diariamente.
· Ofrecerse para ayudar la escuela como pueda.
· Participar en las Noches de Familia para Alfabetización, Matemáticas, y Ciencias.
Como escuela, nosotros nos comprometemos a:
· Proveer actividades educativas que sean apropiadas y que se enfoquen en el niño como individuo.
· Proveerle reporte del progreso a tiempo.
· Proveer un ambiente seguro y cariñoso para todos los niños.
· Proveer materiales adecuados para satisfacer las necesidades de su niño/a.
· Leer a su hijo todos los días.
· Asistiré con la transición al Kinder.
· Proveeré libros de para que usted los lea con sus hijos en casa.
· Proveeré una lista de vocabulario del tema del mes.
· Proveeré altamente calificados maestros.
