HOMEWORK: Homework will be assigned each class period and should be completed by the next class meeting. Completion of homework assignments is essential for success in this course.

ATTENDANCE: Regular class attendance is expected of every student. Poor attendance almost invariably leads to poor grades. You are held responsible for all material covered and all announcements, changes, etc. made during each class period whether or not you attend the class.

CALCULATOR: One of the TI-83, TI-84, TI-89 or TI-Nspire are recommended.

TESTS: There will be four tests during this course. In addition there will be a final examination. NO MAKE-UP TESTS WILL BE GIVEN. If you miss a test you MUST take the final examination as a substitute for that test. Each test will count as 25% of your course average. Tests and the Final Exam may contain multiple choice and/or true-false test items. At the end of the course if you are satisfied with your overall average, you may walk away and not take the final examination. If you choose to take the final exam IT WILL COUNT as 25% of your course grade and it will substitute for your lowest test grade. Any student who does not show up for the final examination will be given the grade which is the average of her four tests unless she has previously discussed some dire situation with me and I have agreed to give her an incomplete.

GRADING: Normally, grades will not be "curved" and the standard grading scale will be used to determine your final grade: A: 90-100 B: 80-89 C: 70-79 D: 60-69 F: below 60.

Disabilities Statement: Students with disabilities who believe that they may need accommodations in this class are encouraged to contact the counselor working with disabilities at (678) 915-7361 as soon as possible to better ensure that such accommodations are implemented in a timely fashion.
