Round Up Scholarships
- To be eligible to receive a Canoochee EMC Round Up Scholarship, the following must apply: You are a high school senior, and your home (i.e., your permanent residence) is served by Canoochee EMC. (Where you attend high school does not matter if you are our customer.)
- In addition, you must graduate from high school at the end of the current school year,
- You must begin college or vocational-technical school within one year after graduation.
- A minimum of five scholarships will be awarded.
- Each CEMC Foundation, Inc. Scholarship will be worth $1,000 and the Mary Shuptrine Tootle Scholarship will be $1500 and either scholarship will be non-renewable.
- The scholarship must be used at an accredited college, university or vocational-technical school.
- A scholarship committee will judge the scholarship applications. Financial need and academic ability will be considered. School, community and work activities; and an essay also will contribute to the applicant’s overall score.
- Scholarship recipients will be chosen from among all eligible applicants, based on all aspects of the selection process.
- If for some reason the recipient fails to enroll and attend their school of choice, the scholarship funds will be reimbursed to the Foundation.
Note: These criteria apply to scholarships to be awarded in 2015. They are subject to change in future years.

INSTRUCTIONS
Please be sure to complete the scholarship application form and attach ALL of the following:
1. A copy of your high school transcript showing your current grade point average.
2. A copy of your official SAT/ACT results. (These must match the scores you provide in Part B of this application. If you have not taken both the SAT and ACT, scores from one will be sufficient.)
3. A brief essay on Canoochee EMC was formed in 1938, please discuss how you feel rural electrification has changed our rural communities. Please remove any reference to the school that you may attend, or anything that would possibly identify you as an applicant. (Recommended length: 1 to 2 pages.)
4. A letter of acceptance to the college or technical school that you plan to attend.
