Team NC - Team Guidelines
Out of Town Guidelines
oWhich Tournaments Are Out of Town: Tournaments are at the parent’s discretion for staying out of town or traveling in the day of the tournament if they are 2 hours or less driving distance to the venue. Please keep in mind that player rest is of utmost importance to us and if players show up for venues not rested, looking alert and ready to play, we will be forced to provide an opportunity for them to rest.
oTravel Coordinators: A parent will be in charge of securing a block of rooms that the team will declare as the Team Hotel for each weekend. The Travel Coordinator will make every attempt to secure safe and affordable accommodations staying at recognized chains when possible. The Travel Coordinator for that weekend will also assist by:
- Selecting, negotiating and securing a block of rooms and rate for the team in advance. Hotel should have breakfast accessible on site. Notifying the Head Coach to update the website with this information.
- Emailing the parents pre-tournament to get a count on how many players/parents need accommodations by themselves versus players that will need to stay with a Mom-chaperone for that weekend and coordinating with the Head Coach on room assignments.
- Each Parent is responsible for calling their own hotel, booking their own rooms and paying for it directly within the block. Y
- You are not required to stay at the team hotel.
oInitial Player Arrival Time: Each player is responsible for attending the team breakfast at the Team Hotel on assigned days of play. This is to avoid game day late arrivals, eating a good breakfast and reviewing any game plans.
oDaily Player Schedule:
- Players meeting at the breakfast area of the Team Hotel, dressed and ready to play, with all gear and money (if needed) for breakfast at the scheduled time.
- The team will eat breakfast together and ride with the coaches to the venue for pre-game activities such as warm-ups, watching another game, etc.
- This will allow parents and extended families to arrive at the scheduled game time and enjoy the game while allowing the coaches and players the proper focus pre-game.
oPlayers to Remain At Venue: Players are to remain at the game venues as a team unless exceptions are made by the Coach.
oLights Out: Players are to be in bed and completed with pre-bedtime activities (showers, etc.) with lights out by 10:00pm on nights before scheduled games.
oExtracurricular Activities: Players are not to participate in extra activities during the game days including, the swimming pool, the beach, amusement parks, etc. until AFTER the last scheduled game of the day. It is our intention to keep players cool and rested prior to the last game of the day.
oParents Not At The Venue With Their Player: To ensure maximum safety of our players, please make sure your player is assigned to another parent or coach prior to leaving them at a venue for any length of time. Please also inform the Head Coach in case the player needs to be located for warm-ups, team blunches, etc. Finally, make sure to inform your player themselves so they know the plan.
