Meeting was held on October 1, 2014 at 7:08 P.M.

All officers present.

It was reported that all in attendance had the proper membership card.

Minutes of the prior meetings:

The September minutes were approved.

Navigator Report: (Worthy Navigator Ray Miller)

Outer Sentinel vacancy due to the passing of SK Charles Grifall.

Installation of Officers October 25th @ 4:00 P.M., St Rose of Lima Mass @ 5:00P.M., Dinner@ Tamarack@ 6:45 P.M. (Wives invited) Attire: Tuxedos.

November 11th Veterans Day Parade (Color Corp Event) 10:30 A.M. show time.

No regular meeting December 3, 2014.

Christmas dinner scheduled for December 13, 2014 @ Tamarack.

February 21, 2015, 4th Degree Exemplification at Bishop Manogue High School, Dinner @ Tamarack. Candidates show up @ 12:00 P.M.

Master Dave Ryan and his guests accepted our invitation to a soup dinner February 20, 2015 in lieu of the requested hosted cocktail reception.

Prayers for Tom Gurgui and his family due to the passing of his mother this week.

Report of the Assembly Purser: (SK John Sokol)

The Assembly Purser reported a balance of $ 7,586.32

Report of the Worthy Friar: (SK Bishop Strailing)

Worthy Friar Bishop Stratling spoke about Saint Therese of Lisieux also known as Saint Therese of the Little Flower. Talked about her life, her holiness and her service to God.

The Comptroller reported on correspondence: (SK Johnnie Thomas)

Received transfer application for Manual Garcia. Motion made and approved to accept application.

Financial: Incoming - $ 620.00 Outgoing - $ 987.66

New Business:

SK Dan Dexter talked about our installation of officers and the need for Eucharistic ministers to serve at mass.

October 6, 2014 Bishop Manogue Alumni having a benefit. Cost $100.00.

November 8, 2014, 12th Annual Polenta dinner at Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows.

SK Joe Garcia thanked all VA Bingo helpers.

Brian Saeman filled vacancy of Sentinel.

SK Bill Bierce reported Color Core performed outstandingly at Charles Grifall funeral. Read thank you from family. (SEE BELOW)

Thank you all for attending Charlie’s funeral. The Color Corps contribution to the service was tremendous. My family and I thank you all for your kindness and support especially St. Andrews Assembly 3118 and Council 978 for just being there for us. When the Lord calls our loved ones home, he leaves a gift of memories in exchange. We have many memories of Charlie as a member of an expanded family he thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Knights of Columbus. This organization and the friends he made, has given us the strength to go on with our lives. Again thank you all for just being there for us.

Vice Supreme Master Marv Harris talked about his experience with Charles Grifall as a 4th degree knight.
