Dear Coaches,
Your team is invited to participate in the “First Annual Tiger JV Tournament.” It will be held on Saturday, January 13th, 2018. Entry fees are $200.00 up to 20 kids and $10.00 per extra wrestler.
Medals will be awarded for 1st- 2nd of each pool.
Coaches –This will be a brand new tournamentto help get our JV kids some mat time. We are hoping to have 6-10 schools competing (but not limited too).We are very excited to host the event and hope it is a fun one that you all will want to attend over and over again.
COACHES MEETING: 8:00 am – Hospitality Room
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Wrestlers will be grouped into pools of 5 (five) in each weight class. Each wrestler will wrestle 4 (four) times and will receive 1 bye round during the tournament. Medals will be awarded to the top 2 (two) wrestlers in each pool. The winners of each pool will be determined by a set criteria with record being first criteria. Matches will be 2-1-1 periods.
(We will do our best to match wrestlers of similar ability but will move wrestlers into other pools to ensure all pools are close to full.)
SCHEDULE/WEIGH-IN: 7:00 – 8:00 a.m. This will be held in the Coweta wrestling room.
1st Round: 9:00 a.m. We will roll straight through with minimal breaks.
TEAM REGISTRATION: We use a pool system that matches up wrestlers of similar ability. Please place your wrestler in the pool that you believe they belong in. The pools in each weight class will be as follows:
- A pool – winning record on JV
- B pool – average JV wrestler – close to .500 record
- C pool – new, beginner wrestler (first year) – Below .500 JV record
